Oh sorry, i tought you were talking about the character, i have no idea why you'd think it has anything to do with curses.

Because it gives you the whole map and curse of the lost takes away the map... it's a valid question to ask if it would override the curse as a pick up consumable.

For that you'll want to use Rune of Dagaz. That'll remove the curse.
