So I'm about to do Judas' run and the guide I'm looking at says that I have to die by her foot. But it says so like this:

"Third death
Character: Judas
Die by Mom's foot. You must die BY her foot, not on the boss with her foot, an important distinction to make."

I don't really understand what it means by dying BY her foot and not on the boss with her foot. Can someone here clear this up for me? Thanks.

It means you need to be killed by her stomp ability, not anything else in the fight. Go into the fight with ½-1 hearts and stand in the middle.

There's several parts to that boss - it spawns random enemies, and has skin/hand/eye bits pop through the door as well, only dying to the foot part of it will count, presumably. Easiest thing is to just get yourself to almost dead then enter the boss room and stand in the centre to die to the foot quickly before anything else shows up.

There's also the foot from the high priestess card and mom's toenail trinket, though I'm not sure if they count as the same thing.

Ahh okay. I understand now. The guide should have been much more clearer by saying her stomp.

Also in case your guide is unclear on the last part you need to die to the second PHASE of the Satan's FIGHT, not Satan's second FORM.

You need to die to him when he is in the form where he fires blood tears and brimstone, NOT the final stomp form. Some guides are really vague on this point.

Just died to Satan's blood tears. Didn't unlock The Lost.

You're supposed to die to satan's feet, i am veeery sure of that.
Pretty much everything i've seen says the feet.

Either part of the satan portions of the fight will work for the azazel part, as long as you actually die to satan - the kamikaze leeches or the fallen obviously won't count.

There's several catches to the unlock process btw:

1) It must be done in 1 session, the log will even keep track of failures of the lost puzzle if you're not sure where you went wrong - closing and then reopening the game will of course clear the log however. You can check the log while the game is still running if you're not sure if you messed up or not - it's in the save directory and is clearly named as log.txt.

2) It must be in order and dying to the correct things - so that's isaac->maggy->judas->azazel. I assume those attempting it already know what to die to as each character. You may use a seed for the 1st 3 but you may NOT use a seed for the azazel part.

3) revival items complicate things - several of them actually change you into a different character, and as a result getting the final death screen after dying with one of them will count you as a different character, forcing you to restart. I'm fairly certain revivals themselves don't count as deaths however.

4) You cannot complete a run or die in any other way during the unlock process, restarts (hold R, or quit+new game) are allowed however - as long as the death screen never appears outside of the 4 specific deaths you should be fine.

I unlocked the lost, pretty sure I died to mom's hand, not her foot, and I died to Satans big form (second phase), to one of his red bullet projectiles.

I guess like satan, mom's foot uses the same ID for multiple parts of it. It's still best to just die to the foot at the start of the fight mind, considering all of the spawns.

Welp. I'll be trying again later on or tomorrow retracing the exact steps I need to do. I probably missed something or died another way during the Satan fight. idk

Turns out I fked up when doing Maggie's run. I killed myself in the Basement instead of the Caves. oops..

Anyways, this character is hard ;-;
