Is there any point in Soy Milk?

Had a rather nice Judas run just recently with Pentagram, Meat and Crickets Head (+Book of Belial ofc) so rather good damage wise and in then last item room before Mom fight I got Soy Milk and I thought what the hell and took it.
But my goodness does it suck! Even with Book of Belial active my damage was plain bad, couple that with the knockback that makes hitting enemies difficult it took ages to clear out rooms not to mention bosses.
Feels like you have to have freaking Polyphemus/Sacred Heart with that to make it somewhat tolerable.

Are there any good points in taking Soy Milk other than "lolz fun"?

Soy Milk isn't that good by itself, but it has extreme synergy potential. Like, really.

- Any random tear effect occurs at MUCH higher rate. Having Tough Love makes you forget about damage penalty.

- Damage penalty becomes nothing if you get any damage multiplier changing item, like Small Rock or Magic Mushroom.

- Becoming Guppy while having good base damage makes you win the game.

...and on, and on, and on...

I don't have Afterbirth, so in Rebirth, it's the worst item, and it's at least as bad as permanent The Wiz.

Tech X + Anything is kinda OP. Soy Milk still sucks, Tech X is just an OP item.

I think Soy Milk works well with things like Lost Contact and Double/Quad/Triple shot. Unless you have an item that has some sort of function like Blood Clot and Lump Of Coal, the item should be skipped. Also... how does it mix with Polyphemus?

Soy Milk is only bad if you play bad. If you play good - it is good, and even overpowered in some rare cases.

No he's not, I've had quite a few runs that made soy milk amazing. It's op as f*** if you pick up some good damage or libra after you pick up soy milk
