No Satan yet?

Jut unlocked "???" by beating "Mom's Heart" 10 times, but I still no Satan.

Am I just extremely unlucky?

You have to beat the heart 11 times to unlock It Lives and from then on, after defeating It Lives, you'll have a choice of going to the Cathedral or Sheol after the fight.

I am pretty sure you only need to do that in order to unlock the Cathedral, not Sheol. One of my buddies, killed Satan the other day and he has only beaten the heart like 6 times.

I have read multiple things about defeating the heart witout losing red hearts. Been there, done that, almost every time. No room.

Yes, like Don Kikong said, if you get the devil room after the fight, there will be a trap door in it to Sheol (although the first time I got it, it took me to the Cathedral instead). This can be done even the first time you beat the heart.

It's random before you unlock it lives. After you get both every time.

To massively increase the chance of getting a Devil/Angel room you normally require you to take no red heart damage for the entire floor, not just the boss fight. Anyways as already said, you will get the choice eventually. Probably just a couple more heart kills.

Yeah I've done that a couple of times also, with Mom's Heart aswell. I just feel like I am being really unlucky with the devil room never being there. I'll just keep on trying.

No red heart damage for the entire floor or having the lamb item basically guarantees an angel/devil room which can send you to sheol/cathedral before unlocking them if they appear on Womb/Utero 2/XL. No red heart damage from the boss only gives you a decent chance too, but it's only around 25% from just that, leaving a significant luck factor. Soul heart damage definitely doesn't count against you, not sure about black hearts though.

I have beaten the heart without taking red heart damage on the floor. In fact, I just did. With Mom's Pearl.

But yeah. Goat Head should guarantee a devil room.

After beating Mom's Heart for sixth time, a devil room showed up and I was able to go to Sheol and fight Satan, but I don't really know exactly how to get to Satan. It just showed up.

If you get a devil room you go to sheol early. It's the same mechanic as getting devil rooms on any other floor except you find a trap door instead of a devil deal.

If you got an angel room you'd go to the cathedral instead.

Let me explain: every time you beat Mom's Heart prior to your 11th win (which unlocks It Lives), there's a chance you'll get a devil room/angel room containing a trapdoor/light leading to the Sheol/Cathedral, respectively. The chance of one of these rooms appearing depends on your Faith/Evil levels, which have to be at a certain number for one of them to appear.

After you unlock It Lives, every time it is killed a beam of light and trapdoor will appear in the center of the room regardless of your faith and evil levels. However, a devil room or angel room will still occasionally appear.
