i think you cant controll the tear and you char at the same time, that is why you are complaining about it
if you are having trouble with that, wait till you get cursed eye, that will make you cringe
Bob's Brain is pretty bad since you end out doing more damage to yourself than your enemies.
Isaac's tears seems pretty bad most of the time unless you have a slow powerful tear effect to use it with.
Kamikaze! is still horribly bad unless you have Pyromaniac or something like that.
Monster Manual... takes up active item slot for a random familiar every now and then, rather just finding a familiar....
Anti-Gravity... not seen any good use of this but would synergy well with lump of coal, probably need homing and definitely don't want brimstone or technology effects.
Number one, unless you have Technology, there is no reason to get this, greatly reduced range for greatly increased fire rate.
Soy Milk, to often this leaves you do such little damage you might as well not be attacking. You really have to rely on a synergy if you pick this up or hope you get a lot of +attack soon.
Mom's Toe Nail... random mom's foot, can go off at any time and can hurt/kill you. Does do a lot of damage if it hits enemies tho.
Hook Worm.... can make hitting enemies harder... a lot harder.
i have to disagree with these 3.
bobs brain is very tricky but if you get used to it it can realy give you a nice damage boost when you need it, if your damage is fine and dont have alot of health then you probably dont want to pick it up.
anti gravity does have some good synergies. i once had a run where i had it + my reflection (cuasing the tears to gravitate towards you and sort of swarm around you before firing off) and shielded tears. i basicly had this cloud of inpenetrable tears protecting me at all times.
number one can increse your damage a TON. and the reduced range is very easely dealt with.
The item I hate the most is Cursed Eye... But only because of the teleporting. Otherwise it's a decent item.
For example, cursed eye + mutant spider + polyphemus results in most bosses going down in ~2 charged shots. You almost cannot lose with this combination.
I've switched on bob's brain now, it just takes practice but it's actually potentially one of the best items as it counts as bomb meaning it gets all bomb synergys... haven't tested it with sad tears but have with butt bombs which causes the butt bomb effect, effectively for free.
I've more seeing Anti-gravity as just bad, yes all bad items have some good syerngy but anti-gravity is just bad in 97.5% of the time... I'd place it as simply worst item going next to magnetic tears. I generally don't avoid bad items but Magnetic Tears and Anti-Gravity I will always avoid.
Still maintain number 1 is bad, it can become good if you get +range but the amount it decreases range... can be very dangerous.
By "The Controlled Tears" do you mean The Ludovico Technique? If so, it far from the worst but it's not great unless you get a good syenrgy gooing.
