Extremely low SFX

Today, randomly I decided to play a bit of Isaac.
I opened the game and noticed something strange, the SFX (sound effects) are extremely low. I can barely hear the tears, enemies, picking up items, nothing. I have to set the SFX to maximum just to get a volume that I would normally get with one or two volume increases.
Disabling mods doesn't work.
Installing and reinstalling doesn't work.
Verifying the integrity of the files doesn't work either.
Please, someone help me.

i had the sae thing happen when i gt repentagon i forgot how to fix it but it is fixable

THIS IS HOW I FIXED MINE

1. install https://www.openal.org/downloads/oalinst.zip
2. go to ([what ever ur drive is called]\Users\[your user]\Documents\My Games\[whatever dlc u have for Isaac]) in file explorer
3.delete OpenAL32.dll MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A BACKUP JUST IN CASE
and the launch isaac and it should work

I had the same issue, but it wasn't low sfx, sfx were inexistent for me xD. There's only one thing different in my case, i didn't had OpenAL32.dll in that route, i just right-clicked on my library and went to "See local files" and it was there

if ur on windows 11, just enable windows sonic in sound settings and it will fix the game without the need to delete files.

yes but windows sonic sucks since u have to turn it off if games have built in spacial audio otherwise it breaks.

Hmm wont launch if i remove the file. But will when I restore it. Are you guys verifying game files prior to launch?

just enable windows sonic in sound settings. deleting files "sucks".

hmmm what os are you using? and are u installing the latest version of openAL? u can just use windows sonic but personally i dont like it since it breaks sounds in other games i play
