Edmund's Buffing the Lost
Yep, in Afterbirth the Lost will get a little buff. Edmund gave us six choices to vote for. The Lost will either get:

D6 + speed up
D6 + spectral tears
D20 + speed up
D20 + spectral tears
D4 + speed up
D4 + spectral tears

Which do you think it should be?

P.S. In Afterbirth, the basement/cellar might occasionally be on fire. Check Edmund's blog isisaacdead. Great stuff.

I don't like the idea of giving a character some items to make it "balanced."

Maybe if the Lost itself was reworked to be an actual ghost that could maybe phase through things would at the very least be neat.

dang . such a hard choice ,

Lost does need more speed but those spectral tears are so good .

The Lost doesn't need more speed at all.

D6 + Spectral tears is the obvious choice here. Though the D4 could work too (so the Lost doesn't have the same item as Isaac).

yeah dude . i have been out run so much as the lost .

Currently hitting a 370 death in a row with the lost on hard, he does need a little buff, sometimes the game is just too unfair. I think spectral tears is a must, you play as a ghost after, it's just logic he has this item. For the choice of the dice however, I'm not sure it's a good idea. I'd love to play with D6 of course but maybe it'd be too easy when this character is all about a near-impossible challenge.
Another thing that would make a the lost run (and any run) smoother is: when you launch a new game, the treasure room of the first level will always be where you spawn. I don't think it's a game-breaker and it would save a LOT of time and unnecessary effort. "Oh yeah, sure, I just survived a bunch of 4-rooms with friggin' spiders vomitting armies of the most annoying ennemy in the game to get the poop, I'd love to do that again. What? Holy water? Kamikaze? Sure, I play only to take 3 intense minutes to get those!"

d4+spectral tears would be perfect. d4 is a very interesting and fun item, and so people might even play the lost for fun, and spectral tears are not very strong but make sense becase he is 2spooky gost.

What about the D100? The lost totally needs something to retool all those terrible health related items, but he should have a unique one at that.
Smetz May 5, 2015 @ 4:46am
Both the D100 and D4 would shake things up, but after one or two decent items, they become worthless. The Lost should have something that is somewhat more consistent. I think D6 + spectral would be great.
D6 + spectral tears sounds so great

None of them since i dont wanna see the lost getting a buff at all.

He's fine as he is.
CondoSlime May 5, 2015 @ 7:42am
Well Isaac has the D6 so Imma go for D20 and spectral tears
Bundeluxe May 5, 2015 @ 8:57am
None of them. The Lost is supposed to be ungodly difficult to play as and if they change that, the entire concept dies out. If they want to do this, they should create an entirely new character imo.
WhatsOnTV? May 5, 2015 @ 9:02am
I think the D4 + spectral would be nuts
Blue Candle May 5, 2015 @ 9:16am
I say even just spectral tears will be good. A lot of people are going to be butt hurt over this if they do go through with this and I'm going to laugh at them.

You now you don't HAVE to do that, right? it's not worth going to the item room on the first floor unless it's in the spawn room or within 30 seconds of it, on the miniscule chance it's something good.
After the firrst few hours grinding the lost for my second game winning run i resorted to holding R until i spawned next to a curse room with 9 lives/guppy's collar or an item room.
