So does Brimstone overwrite 20/20, or are the two shots just overlapping?

Quad Shot + Brimstone gives it 4 beams that overlap each other so I would imagine the same would be for 20/20.

20/20 does not reduce tears so I would assume not, never gotten it with Brimstone though so can't confirm. 20/20 is just an incredibly powerful offensive item.

I have gotten it with azezel and it does increase the amount of time to charge up your shot. It kinda sucks. If you are good at the game you can plan your strikes and make a huge heavy hit at one time. I feel like it quadrupals the damage and doubles the time to charge. Just my experience.

Yes, you will shoot two lasers and I would assume charge rate is slower, as quad shot and triple shot slows charge time. Also, if your curious, most things that override "tears" like Brimstone, Knife, Ipecac, possibly the fetus items will split up with Double/Triple/Quad shots with a high charge rate (maybe 3-4 sec). I have tested this with Triple shot knife and Quad shot/Tammy's head/Sad Bomb Ipecac and was it a beautiful sight :D Except Sad bombs Ipecac screw you over a lot :P

I've already picked them both up, I just don't see two lasers. Only reason I'm curious is because with triple shot and quad shot the tears branch off in differnt angles, with 20/20 they don't, so I may be shooting two lasers without seeing it because they go in the same direction.

From my experience a lot of the new non-spotlight items don't synergize at all. Mostly it's just old items and then ludivico. It's been insanely dissapointing to get a great run going, find an item that would synergize well and then realize that it just completely resets the tear effect / stat boost.

I have found a lot of cool synergies. I agree it's annoying to find an effect get completely nullified and replaced with a boring stat boost, but I've experienced that mostly with Brimstone, occasionally with Ipecac. Although Ipecac + Tiny Planet + Lump of Coal was great fun.
