Weird... did you happen to pop a Strength card in the previous room and get knocked down to 1 heart before entering this room?

Maybe there was some "fire poop" in the entrance of the new room. I lose a lot of hearts this way...(and always forget when reentering the same room)

I think you can safely rule that out, fire poops do have an icon in the death note, this one is just blank. Are you sure you didn't have a temporary soul heart from the Strength card?

Yes I did that, so they changed how that card work with blue baby? That's pretty lame...
