How to tell what pills are?

Seriously how the hell do I tell the difference between the pills? Most of the time the same looking pill does a different thing...

they are different every run.

The pills are different every run. A blue one might be Health Up in one game and Bad Gas in another. There's no way to tell what they are without using them. Also, some of them look similar but have spots on them.

But, on the same run. A blue pill will have the same effect as every other blue pill. But it'll have a different effecty in the next run.
