The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth

The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth

Music was much better in the original
I really like new Isaac, pretty much everything got fixed, much better fps (original used to slow down in bigger battles), more items, enemies, endings, everything. The only thing i dont like is music. The original soundtrack was perfect for me. Especially Satan battle or Mom's heart battle or normal bosses music. Here the music is good of course usually, it fits to battle but nothing special. Worst thing is music in catacombs cus well, there is no music there, only some noises.

To not be that haterl, i must admit i like basement music better than original. Caves and mom's heart battle are pretty good too. I didnt get further yet so i dont know how it is in Sheol or Cathedral. Absolutely BEST bit of music is main menu theme, i always have shivers on vocal part :tlove:

Danny and Edmund got into an argument. He's not composing for him anymore. If you miss the original's ost best option you have is to play it through Steam Music.

I don't really think it's fair to compare the two, they're practically different genres.

One is this droning, heavy, gritty music that fits well with the more morbid and dark atmosphere of Rebirth, the other has a lot of dynamics and fills where Danny would use intonation through arpeggios or arias to tie things together, which led to a more lighthearted style that fit the comedic relief the original BoI had.

Personally I think the original soundtrack was what was good for the original and the Rebirth soundtrack is what's good for Rebirth.

Have to agree with you OP. Even the sound effects sound worse. Not horrible by a long shot just simply not as good.

Idk I think alot of people will disagree with you. Danny B is not a huge hit because he makes meh sound tracks.

Yeah Spelunky's soundtrack always felt a bit generic to me.

+1 the old soundtrack gave me goosebumps the new one is just meh
neat and fitting but almost boring

I think the new soundtrack is overall more ambient sound, with the old soundtrack being more like a rock ballad.
