One is this droning, heavy, gritty music that fits well with the more morbid and dark atmosphere of Rebirth, the other has a lot of dynamics and fills where Danny would use intonation through arpeggios or arias to tie things together, which led to a more lighthearted style that fit the comedic relief the original BoI had.
Personally I think the original soundtrack was what was good for the original and the Rebirth soundtrack is what's good for Rebirth.

Idk I think alot of people will disagree with you. Danny B is not a huge hit because he makes meh sound tracks.

yeah im for sure in the minority, his soundtrack for everything else is awesome for sure crypt of the necrodancer amazing. But ive never liked isaacs OST it always felt boring and repetitive :(
Yeah Spelunky's soundtrack always felt a bit generic to me.
