Help with the Orbital challenge?

How would one go about about doing it beyond "git gud", any tips? For reference, it's you cannot shoot tears, you have Halo of Flies, Distant Admiraton, Forever Alone, and Flying. I can barely beat the basement with it. (And Cat Got Your Tongue is even worse, but one demon at a time).

Brace for wall of text: The first thing to understand is the main method for attack in this challenge, the blue fly. In order to do this you have to get used to manouvering around enemies to hit them with your fly and circle the enemy so the fly's rotation makes it stay on them. Since you have flight, take advantage of it as much as possible, always hover over rocks and pits if you have enemies that can't reach you.(sidenote-it may be useful to time entering a room, so the blue fly is in the best position to attack right away)
- The flies themselves are not always enough for more challenging rooms. Basically you'll want to get a spacebar item as fast as possible, either through the shop, minibosses, or other means. Myself, I got lucky, and managed to find guppy's head in a curse room.
- It's often a good idea to go in curse rooms as much as possible(at least before the womb), since you have flight, you'll only take damage on exiting. Keep in mind, besides the first floor, you might want to wait until after you kill the boss until going into a curse room, to better increase the chance of a devil room appearing.
- Devil rooms can really make this run, especially famaliars since, despite not being able to fire tears yourself, they still can. Two of the best devil items,( if you can find them) would be the brimstone-firing baby, and dark bum(provided you don't have many red hearts at least). Crampus' head would make an amazing spacebar item if you could get it as well. None of these are necessary, just probably among, if not the best one's for this challenge. Personally, I had sister maggy, ghost baby, and a brother bobby(though I got that from the fallen). All this said, I only barely beat mom's heart within an inch of life, so it's still no easy feat.
- Recap - master attacking with blue fly, get spacebar item asap, try for devil/curse room items, go with caution. Best of luck to you, hope this helps :)

Thank you. Seems similar to the bean run then, just with less bombs and more flying. Luck is always a significant factor, unfortunately, eh? Well, thank you once more for the advice.

You're welcome. Perhaps I shall get around to doing the bean run myself soon. Not looking forward to it, I've never liked the bean, nor do I use bombs in combat all too often. I'm sure it'll be fine.

I finished this challenge yesterday but only because I got lucky.

The blue fly has more reach but does low damage. The red fly has short reach but does double damage. Use the red fly as often as possible.

I lucked out and got the brimstone baby which let me kill enemies at range (but not destroy fires or poops). This helped me kill mom's heart.

You have to get some decent items. I was unlucky and died on Womb I, because got nothing of value. I expected it to end after Mom actually. All I got was Guppy's Head and that wasn't enough.

Getting another pretty fly makes you pretty much invincible with 5 flies circling you. I didn't get hit by any of mom's hearts projectiles.

The red fly that's closer to you makes more damage, though. I got a few damage upgrades and monsters were dying instantly when they came in contact with the red fly.

Awesome. Managed to get it with the brimstone baby, the devil bum, the Virus, and some Cubes of Meat (which might I say make it a LOT easier when all you need to do is dodge). But I couldn't have done it without Lemon Party. Weird, I know, but it cleared all the monsters in Mom's Heart so I could focus on attacking the boss.

Finally, last challenge i knocked off the list.
Got lucky to find a guardian angel in a godroom and also had a cube of meat. Lucky Pillrotation and HUZZAH ! It's done ! Also, the Bibel helped a little..... :P

I got tele'd to a floor 1 devil deal, took guppy's hairball and infested baby. found 9 lives in curse room. 2nd floor I found guppy's head in a curse room, hp up from boss, guppy's hairball/headless baby on devil room (now im guppy). 3rd floor I took pact with spirit heart devil deal, and got hp up pill.

So I'm guppy, lvl 2 meat boy, infested baby, the pact, and bob's head. I'm basically using my followers to deal damage, along with flies created from follower hits.

Only on 3rd floor, but not doing too bad so far

Ended up getting isaac's head as well; apparently when you're guppy, you generate flies when your followers tears hit. Also got level 3 meat boy. Basically I ran around mom's heart like an idiot avoiding her bullets, and pressing whatever arrow key was in her general direction, then did the same for her spawns. Eventually when she really started doing the bullet hell thing, I popped a chariot card and ran up to her. Ended up with 2 out of 9 lives left, and a single red and single blue heart. Honestly, this came down to luck more so than skill, aside from dodging the bullets. Luckily I didn't get hit once when I beat her; all my lives lost came from bob's brain blowing up in my face on earlier rooms

I am pleased to note I did beat it for a yearly update, though using demon baby, the easy out of the challenges.
