The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth

The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth

Game randomly accelerates for a single room?
Does anyone else have this? Randomly, for a single room and sometimes multiple, the game will insanely accelerate, making all projectiles, enemies, yourself go faster, makes the timer tick like twice per second.

It's most likely a super enemy causing that. There seems to be new attributes super enemies can have, like regeneration and explosive death. Maybe time acceleration is one of the new attributes?

No, it happens in empty rooms.

did you pick up the broken watch?

No.

I think it has to do with performance. When I go between a regular womb room and, let's say, a library, I'll have regular performance in the womb(which is rather intensive) and the library is much smoother, and the game will accelerate insanely there.

This is an issue currently with the way the game renders cosmetic lighting / shadow / fog effects. The filters added - especially the one in the Womb - are very heavy on performances and causes the frame rates to drop heavily on such levels.

Secret rooms and shops don't have these special effects in them, that's why the game appears to run much smoother / faster.

This needs to be fixed. :really:

It doesn't appear to, it really accelerates insanely. I think it is because rebirth tries its best to keep up to a decent framerate, no matter how laggy it is, and when you get out of the lag(for example, secret rooms) your computer is still overworking and it will accelerate the game.

Hey guys.

No solution here, but I confirm the bug existence.

I don't have the problem on my computer (and got to Mom's heart several time without noticing any time issue), meanwhile I played on a friend computer (which has worse performance) and the game did accelerate periodically. The in-game clock also went faster.

This thing need a fix, so we must make the bug known. There isn't much informations about it for now.

I've had this issue Several times now
it does seem like its related to Pc performance as I have had it happen for entire floors until entering a boss room at which point it returns to regular speed
evidence of it here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MsJRgxG2Sww

Oh interesting video. Indeed, this is slightly different that what I described, although it is very probably related in some ways.

I get this too pretty much exactly like your video. It drives me nuts.

It is your PC. When I was playing the original Binding of Isaac on a really bad non-gaming laptop, everything shifted between slow and normal motion.

If it's my PC, it certainly isn't because it's not a gaming PC. I'm not upgrading to Titans to play a retro game, I can assure you of that.

You are missing the point completely.
