The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth

The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth

High CPU usage in fullscreen mode
If I play the game windowed, it uses the CPU about 50% (and GPU barely gets bothered at around 9%). Performance is fast and smooth and perfect.

However, if I play the game fullscreen, it maxes out the CPU at 100%, which lags everything and makes my computer run hot and loud. So what's happening? How can I fix that?

I've tried a couple of things with the ini file: vsync set to 1 or 0, MaxRenderScale se to 1 or 2. No change.

CPU: Intel Core2Duo E8500 3.16GHz, GPU: Geforce GTX 550Ti, OS: WIndows 7 32bit.

40-60% on Fullscreen for me
No lag on my end or high temps, mainly becaue I have a beefy CPU and water cooling but the usage is still a lot higher than I would expect for such a game.

Edit: I seem to get 15% usage MAX on my first core when playing in windowed mode, and around 5-10% on the others.

Windows 7 64 bit, Intel Core i5 4670k @ 4.5GHz, GeForce GTX 770 Windforce (Overclocked)

Qwerty, take note of my problem: the game runs GREAT and uses the CPU around 50-60% in a large window... but kills the CPU in fullscreen. It's just a mystery I'd like to solve.

It's most likely your hardware. It's inferior and vastely outdated. Fullscreen is much more intensive than window. I dont' mean to be so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ blunt, but you NEED to upgrade your rig.

then your cpu is to weak for fullscreen :-) if it is a engine problem i would have that problem too in fullscreen with my i7 3770 but i don't.

Very strange. Check out this CPU usage in CoreTemp (on my second monitor) while running a in windowed now. http://puu.sh/cEbFz/a78310c44c.png

you also need 8GB RAM and with win7 32bit you can't have that (can't understand why people are still buying 32bit...)

Gt365m
corei5 dual 2,6ghz
4gb ram Laptop and cp usage is fine ....

Uh you're wrong ... i am running it perfectly with the specs i just said you do not need 8gb ram
you are right about the 32bit tho , it cannot use anymore than 3,5gb so a 4gb ram on a 32bit is a waste.
i am using 64bit

People, computer users, need to understand that if you want to play a game you MUST MEET MINIMUM SPEC. Now, what that means is it will PLAY. It does NOT gurantee it will play well or that your experience will be rewarding or to your liking.

If you want a satisfying game experience you need to meet or go above RECOMMENDED SPEC.

Did you read what i just said ?
The game runs on 60 fps, never went down, never had any crashing problem
This game is running perfectly on my specs
I know the storepage specs but that does not mean you NEED 8gb
i was referring to when you said "you also need 8GB RAM and with win7 32bit you can't have that" No you dont need 8Gb ram for this game
And i proved it by running it perfectly on a dualcore 4gb ram laptop.
Also ran it on my gaming pc, same effect everything is perfect
so get this idea of your head this game does not need 8gb ram it was just a requirement for edmund to put so if the game lagged at some pc's they wont blame the requirements he put on the store page its how that works

i read what you said and i know it. still you have a crappy CPU and you can't understand that it can't handle Fullscreen. It's an awful dualcore. What do you want from us ? We can't buy you a new CPU or even a new computer. see ya

edit: like i said, if it would be a engine problem we all would have that problem.

I don't think you understand. The problem isn't that the OP's dual core CPU can't run the game well... It's that running in fullscreen mode causes high CPU usage compared to windowed mode.
His system can run the game just fine.
