Odd bedroom room

What the ♥♥♥♥ is this? I'm on depths 2, just starting exploring, find a big room with a door covered in wood planks on it. Bombed it , the boards cracked, bombed a second time, it opens.

Inside was a big carpet and a bed surrounded in spikes. On instinct I bombed the carpet, boom. Bloody opening. Bed bounces when touched but doesn't seem to react to anything, and I'd prefer not to die soooo

Anyone else encounter this? DO I JUMP?

I'm pretty sure the bed will heal you if you sleep in it, I saw that in a video. If you have full health it does nothing I'd assume.

As for if you should jump...What kind of question is that? Take the plunge, you might find something interesting.

Yep, I found that room too, the bed heals you, but the one I found wasn´t surrounded by spikes.
The hole is a shortcut to the next floor, take it if you want or face the boss to get another item.

Asked 'cause the boss of depths 2 is Mom and I'd have to pick one or the other. Thanks for the response, I figured it might just be a fast track to the womb given the look of the hole, but hoped for something more interesting given the effort it took to reveal.

The Bed heals you. When I did it with only half of a black heart left, it gave me 3 soul hearts.

Its isaacs bedroom. Think about it. 1 bed. No windows and a carpet/rug with a hole leading to the next floor.

Actually the rug ladder can lead you to the item room (the ones that look like Legend of Zelda item rooms). Snagged Mom's Wig that way
