As someone who played a great deal of the original, I appreciate this. It makes the game feel new, but familar, at the same time.
If it told you what everything did that'd ruin all the fun. I'd honestly hate that. What's wrong with a bit of mystery?
If they did that I'd only support it as an option.
You can press pause and on the pause menu there's a little piece of paper with pictures of all yours items on it. Is that what you mean?
I'm assuming you mean ESC to open the menu? Where it says "MY ITEMS"?
Edit: If you mean ESC-Items or Main page collected items then it's normal, you collect the items but don't see the names of it after collected, in the original you also couldn't see that and it bothered me just a little, would be great indeed to mouse over and see the name and maybe description. I used Wikipedia for it in the original game.
THOSE DESCRIPTIONS. THE ONES ALL OVER THE BLOG.
For example I just picked something up with a hint like "u feel like a wizard".. cool.. like this is a usefull information to me...(no, dont tell me whats that..)
Then there is this item which popped up at the bottom left corner, and it was something like a masterkey/lock thingie. I'm sure it is usefull, but I have absolutely no idewa what it does. I cant unlock key doors with it, w/o a key.
In theory theres like 500+ items in the game. It just feels sillythat I have to memorize an item to not pick it up ever again, if it was bad. Also here's the thing. If I found a seemingly bad item, it might change something in thegame, which I wouldnt know unless I play with it for an extended time. I can't imagine that they just forget to put something that vital into this game, which makes me think this is a design choice, which also means it is probably not gonna change..
I hope there will be a mod for this game, which fixes this issue and tells me everything I want to know about an item before picking it up.
You realize that he had them written out like that so Nicalis could know what to do with them, right?. I mean look at them, what benefit would VISUAL be for us, as the player?
It may have also been formatted this way, just so we could get a teaser of some of the things being put into the game as well.
It's a gamble, and figuring out the effects is half the fun.
If you can't handle this, you've bought the wrong game.
It's been like this in the original and it'll stay like that in this version.
100% guaranteed. No amount of complaining will change that.
That being said, there will be a wiki of some sorts later down the road.
If you want to ruin your experience that much, just go there and spoil everything so there is nothing left for you to explore.
