The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth

Item Descriptions?
After seeing it all over the blog, WHERE THE HELL ARE THE ITEM DESCRIPTIONS

Seriously, advertise a feature all over the damn blog and then not put it in

They pop up whenever you pick up an item. The descriptions are mostly just really cryptic hints though, minus the pure stats up items.

As someone who played a great deal of the original, I appreciate this. It makes the game feel new, but familar, at the same time.

This is really silly. Why do we have to pick something up in order to know what is that... Those descriptions should be avaliable before we pick something up.. before we ♥♥♥♥ up our char with an idiotic item..

If it told you what everything did that'd ruin all the fun. I'd honestly hate that. What's wrong with a bit of mystery?

If they did that I'd only support it as an option.
None of you have apperantly looked at the blog. AT ALL. Right on the front page, you're supposed to be able to press start or something and see your items... we can't, so it may be a "feature" special to Vita players or some bs

You can press pause and on the pause menu there's a little piece of paper with pictures of all yours items on it. Is that what you mean?

I'm assuming you mean ESC to open the menu? Where it says "MY ITEMS"?

When picking some items that you use by pressing Q like for example pills or cards, there is a better description than it used to be in the original game. First item I picked up was a card and the description said something about 'Healing' so it was obvious and I was able to use the card properly because of the description instead of just pressing Q not knowing the result, that for me is a great improvement.

Edit: If you mean ESC-Items or Main page collected items then it's normal, you collect the items but don't see the names of it after collected, in the original you also couldn't see that and it bothered me just a little, would be great indeed to mouse over and see the name and maybe description. I used Wikipedia for it in the original game.

Those aren't meant to be in the game. That was just what Edmund was using so he could show Nicalis all the items he wanted in the game.

I never played the original game, so this is quite new to me. I dont want u or a wiki tell me what an item does, but I would realyl like to know what an item does, before I pick it up via seeing it's ingame desc. And even after I pick something up, I just got a message which is just a hint, not actual information.

For example I just picked something up with a hint like "u feel like a wizard".. cool.. like this is a usefull information to me...(no, dont tell me whats that..)

Then there is this item which popped up at the bottom left corner, and it was something like a masterkey/lock thingie. I'm sure it is usefull, but I have absolutely no idewa what it does. I cant unlock key doors with it, w/o a key.

In theory theres like 500+ items in the game. It just feels sillythat I have to memorize an item to not pick it up ever again, if it was bad. Also here's the thing. If I found a seemingly bad item, it might change something in thegame, which I wouldnt know unless I play with it for an extended time. I can't imagine that they just forget to put something that vital into this game, which makes me think this is a design choice, which also means it is probably not gonna change..

I hope there will be a mod for this game, which fixes this issue and tells me everything I want to know about an item before picking it up.

THOSE DESCRIPTIONS. THE ONES ALL OVER THE BLOG.

You realize that he had them written out like that so Nicalis could know what to do with them, right?. I mean look at them, what benefit would VISUAL be for us, as the player?

It may have also been formatted this way, just so we could get a teaser of some of the things being put into the game as well.

You're not supposed to know what an item does.
It's a gamble, and figuring out the effects is half the fun.
If you can't handle this, you've bought the wrong game.
It's been like this in the original and it'll stay like that in this version.
100% guaranteed. No amount of complaining will change that.

That being said, there will be a wiki of some sorts later down the road.
If you want to ruin your experience that much, just go there and spoil everything so there is nothing left for you to explore.
