What would make it so you can't pick up the battery?
I'm Isaac in the secret room and the battery just slides away from me?

It recharges items if you've used them. You can't pick it up if you've got a full charge or no useable items.

you have an item on the top left corner? if not, then of course you can't, if yes and it's full, you can't either (they're rechargeable items) so batteries is used instead of beating a room to fill them :p
