The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth

Dualshock 4 constnatly disconnecting
As I'm playing through the game, I notice that the game pauses itself a lot. AFter seeing this awhile, I noticed for a split second that the game is telling me my controller is disconnected. I also noticed that this happens more when I'm using the analoge sticks instead of the d-pad and buttons. I'm going to assume this is some sort of glitch on behalf of the game? But then again, I only ever use my PS4 controller with xbox controller emulation,s o I never really played a game straight up using the playstation controls. Anyone else experiencing this and know of a fix?

This is fixing the Problem. seems like an Driver error

No, DS4Tool will not solve the problem. I've had it installed for weeks for other games I play on steam and the results are the same. (Though it couldn't hurt to have it installed as well, DS4Tool is a handy thing to have).
HOWEVER, you may have plugged in your DS4 after the game had already launched, which may be the problem.

Personally, I was playing with a DS4 that was all set up and plugged in prior to starting the game and had zero issues. After a half hour or so, I figured I'd switch controllers since the one that came with my PS4 has a mildly irritating squeak when you pull the triggers down.

Unplugged the first DS4 and plugged the backup in (in mid game mind you), and kept playing. Soon as I did that I noticed the pausing bug started happening.

Anyway, just try having it all plugged in before you run the game, maybe that will work for you guys. Can't say it'll work for sure, but it wasn't doing thepause bug until I changed controllers.

They fixed it in one of the new updates and this problem hasn't been happeing anymore for me
I use the DS4Windows fork of the DS4 Xinput wrapper, and once in a GRAND while, I get insane lag, but that hasn't happened for a few weeks. I also use some wonky Chinese Bluetooth dongle; I forget which Bluetooth revision it is. Whichever is the most recent standard. An older one I had kept losing connectivity.

DualShock 2 controllers with a generic USB adapter work fine, too. I was also able to use a Sega Saturn controller with a USB adapter.
I installed my bluetooth adapter drivers provided on the manufaturers's website instead of the ones provided by windows and my controller no longer disconects.
Fix for Bluetooth dropout 'bug' when using DS4Windows software with DS4 wireless controller.

This is a late addition, but it might help somebody...

The Problem:
Although DS4 controller has established a BT connection with your computer, your game often fails to detect wireless controller commands.

The Reason:
DS4Windows needs to be open whilst controller is being turned on. Anytime you turn off your controller, or use it via cable, DS4Windows loses bluetooth functionality and will not automatically reconnect. Also DS4Windows will not indicate any loss of BT contact with controller until it has been restarted.

The Fix:
1. Exit game and turn off DS4 controller
(Press and hold PS button till light is off)
2. Close DS4Windows
3. Check your computer does have a BT connection with your controller
(For Win8.1: Settings > Change PC settings > PC and devices > Bluetooth)
4. Open DS4Windows. Click Controllers tab. it should say: 'no controllers connected')
5. Turn on controller using its PS button
(Light flashes, then glows steady blue,
DS4Windows now shows a controller ID with a BT status icon)
6. Minimise DS4Windows
(Don't close its window)
7. Open Steam
8. Check Steam detects controller via BT
(press PS button so that Steam goes to Big Picture mode.
9. Open Game from Steam library
10. Hopefully it doesn't make a liar of me!

Cheers
I've since moved onto the steam controller for Steam games, but this will certainly be helpful if I want to use my Dualshock for PC stuff! Thanks.
I've searched online in multiple topics, there's something about the drivers and the microsoft net frameworks that might cause that, my controller always worked with usb cable, but now that i bought a BT dongle, i couldn't connect, it would always disconnect in the second after.
if your ps4 controller keeps disconnecting, follow my steps:

(Windows10 Fix) [ Rebooting will be necessary many times to fix drivers ]

first of all disable start on boot in DS4 to follow this Tutorial, then connect your controller to your pc via usb to see if it connects to the DS4, if it does close DS4 tool and follow my steps, if not close ds4tool and go to its main folder and open DS4Updater.exe and click install drivers and wait, then click finish and follow my steps.

1. you migth need some missing runtimes, thats important. Download AIO Runtimes from here[www.computerbase.de], and install only the microsoft runtimes. (install Microsoft .NET framework 4.x.x if not installed)
2. you might also need to fix your drivers, in the DS4Windows page says "If you have used SCP's tool in the past, you may need to uninstall the drivers to use the DS4 with bluetooth". Go to the DS4 main folder and uninstall SCP drivers with the SCPDriver.exe inside, and install it again, then reboot your computer;
3. if your ps4 controller is already paired with BT, click remove the device in Bluetooth Settings and then Reboot your computer.
if not skip this step.
4. After your computer reboots do NOT open DS4! now press you PS button + Share button and open Bluetooth Settings to connect your controller to your pc, click Add a device , select Bluetooth devices and Pair your controller.
5. Now after your controller connects wait until the light go off.
6. Then start DS4.
7. Finally press your PS button once, and wait, your controller should connect just perfectly every single time.
