No Sound Effects?

I got music but no sound effects, no matter how loud I turn them in the options -.-

Hi, me too, same problem. It's not my home cinema, I have restart the pc, no way to have these sfx. I'm glad to see I am not the only one with this issue. Wait and hear ?

Hmm, if it may help someone : I have sound effects, but when watching the recording I made of the game (with camtasia), they seem to not be recorded. Might shed some light to this in a strange way.

I have these in my computer : "SigmaTal STAC9227X@intel 82801HB ICH8 (I think it's that make the sound, i'm french, I don't know how to say "Carte Son"

for me OpenAl doesn't work
it just gave me a pop-up "download complete" and thats it
but most audio is still missing (divorce argument, mother in corps, the chase sequence yells)
can anyone please tell me that theres some other way

Maybe this is one of those games... when you switch the audio device after launching the game doesn't switch that that new channel. You have to set it up before you launch.

Is there anything to keep in mind when renaming it? Do I need to keep it a .dll ?
