"Flash" Filter
I know I will be flamed to high heavens for having an opinion, god forbid, but I was not fond of the pixel graphics. And so the answer to people like me was the "flash" filter.

Except that really doesn't help. It's not a "flash" filter. It's just plain old pixel smoothing. That means it makes everything muddy looking.

But I guess there wasn't much he could do since he went with pixels in the first place, other than completely redrawing everything. But just letting people know...it's real and it's not all that great.

Why are people still talking about this? The game has excellent pixel art, flash graphics are for crappy internet games. Deal wit' it.

I prefer the Rebirth visuals over the original. The original were childish and meh. And really, if you're playing Isaac, why do you care about the visuals. The game is popular because of its gameplay. If you're playing for the graphics, go back to a AAA title.

Eriktion, GTA 5 isn't out on PC yet so I can't.

Just because you like it doesn't mean everyone else does or has to. And no, smoothly drawn graphics are not for crappy internet games. That makes no sense.

I don't see how the original visuals were childish seeing as how this game is a remake and has all the same visuals only now in pixel form. And I can care about visuals in any game. I also am not talking about the graphics, I'm talking about the art style.

Rebirth looks like how Edmund wanted it to look originaly

Which in a way works well, since Isaac is a child. There is an odd synergy there.
I really don't care either way. I have somewhat poor eyesight so the two, frankly, look fairly similar to me when everything is flying around and in motion. Oh yeah, pause, zoom in 10x, and highlight, then I can see it all, but if the creator wanted it this way, well, he's the creator. Vote with your wallet if it matters so much to your better eyes. My bespectacled face doesn't mind either style.

As much as I like the pixels I would miss the original style. Something about uneven bit dirty look for it. I will say this though Isaac in pixels looks a bit to clean and perfect but all the other monsters look good so far.

Wasn't the flash filter made as a joke?
You're just gonna have to deal with graphical improvement.
McKnuckles Oct 19, 2014 @ 7:36pm
Will I miss the old style? Yeah, but I think the newer style looks fine too. Now imagine if you will, that say they had the pixel like style for the old one, and the flash for the new one, would people still complain about it? More than likely yes.

I actually was attracted to the originals art before realising it was a roguelike. The change is not in a direction I like 100% but its still cool and it opened up the way for what will most likely be a better game.

I think these new graphics are MUCH better and much cleaner. Besides, did you SERIOUSLY want Isaac on flash again?

I think you overestimate how much people care about your opinion. I love how the style has changed between the "two" games. It looked low quality in Flash, and Flash is low quality. Now it looks fitting for a top-down roguelike, with enough contrast and variation to look vivid and beautiful.

I never said I wanted Isaac to be made on flash. You can have smoothly drawn artwork on any engine, flash isn't the only one capable of having artwork that isn't pixelated >.>

Never even implied that. I guess you do too, since you also posted your opinion?
