Random Mom Foot?!

Mom's foot is dropping in the normal stages. You may think this is normal but it's happening way too frequently for my liking. 5 times a floor. Can someone explain to me what's up with this? Extra Info:

• The most recent drop was a severed mom's leg(This may have been happening all the time and I probably didn't notice.
  
• It's happening in every run I play in!
  
• There is no noise before it happens(I don't know if there is supposed to be a noise but since there isn't it just drops without me knowing.
  I'd like some help because this game is really fun and this is getting in the way!

did you pick up moms thumbnail? I think that is what it's called. gives a random mom foot

So that's what that crappy item does! I've been getting it all the time thinking it was actually good! Thanks this really helped but what are the pluses for this item. Is it just a chance of hitting the enemy?

yes. giving it a good smack. Although, it will target you if no enemy is around. Makes it tough to gamble

I am never using that trinket again. I haven't finished the game once because of that item!

I looked it up and realised it also can break doors open
