Has Mutant Spider been Removed?
is it just me but in the origanil game i got mutant spider (qwad shot) qwite a bit were is it in this game. im not sad if its been removed but im just wondering.

spell it right, and yes its just unlucky rng like getting double shot then immediatly getting triple shot

It is because in the first Isaac (on the lasted Steam version, not in the 1.50) the Mutant Spider wasn't a special item. Special items mean for example that *seeing (Rebirth) / taking (Vanilla)* a Brimstone will lower a lot your chances to get Mom's Knife for example, but not Mutant Spider which wasn't affected by this game-balancy.

In Rebirth, the Mutant Spider is a special item, so if you see another special item before, you have a very low chance to find Mutant Spider.

well there used to be something like 198 items in the first Binding of Isaac but in Rebirth there are now 343 items so it must be harder to find the mutant spider

It has been AGES since I came across it. Makes me question if it is there. I have came across Godhead and Pyromaniac more often than Mutant Spider. Yes I am naming 2 other special items. Thing is, I may never see a special item my entire run and still never see Mutant Spider.

I look at that and type "special item" on the upper right search bar to see the special items. I come across Epic Fetus quite commonly. Just... do you have to just see the item for other special items to vanish? Or do you have to pick it up for it to lower the chances at another special item?

Anyway... before the game got these several updates... some items you would find quite commonly enough like Fire Mind and came across Mutant Spider commonly enough. It was still rare but I had got it along with Mom's Knife several times. These patches and updates have sure uber lowered the rate of decent helpful items. Most items are pretty horrid, I might make a topic about that as to why many items are trash and throwaways, mostly Spacebar items, and ones that would otherwise be useful are horribly weak or too many charges.

So I just thought I would look up a topic like this instead of making my own. I knew I was not the only one feeling that items like Mutant Spider feel non-existant now.

Edit: Also have yet to find Steven. An item in the original that was rare but would find now and then in a chest or Steven boss fight.
