The name C.H.A.D. is a reference to the 1984 horror film C.H.U.D., confirmed by Edmund.

From the wiki: http://bindingofisaacrebirth.gamepedia.com/C.H.A.D.

It's a goofy horror movie about Cannibalistic Humanoid Underground Dwellers. They live in the sewers and eat people.

"Chad" is also just a person's given name, so turning it into an acronym is a small gag in itself, like P.A.O.L.O. or something. I'm not certain, but I recall somebody once asked Edmund what it stood for, and rather than answer, he just said it stood for something really gross.

I believe that... Binding of Isaac is a disturbing game. With all that gore and pyschotic themes.

Except C.H.A.D. didn't originate from Binding of Isaac.

C.H.A.D. was featured as the second boss in Super Meat Boy, a game also worked on by Edmund McMillen. When you beat C.H.A.D. in the game, he shinks in size (similar to how damaging C.H.A.D. in Binding of Isaac shrinks him), and then turns into nothing more than a smooching red fetus. (Little C.H.A.D.)

Just to inform you.

I know who C.H.A.D is and how it works. I just didn't know what means "C.H.A.D."
