Tainted Lazarus SUCKS and is a CHORE TO PLAY

The title says it all. I like literally EVERY other character this game has, they're all a lot of fun to play... maybe except Jacob and Esau but that's more of an opinion thing. That being said, I CHALLENGE you to find someone who thinks tainted lazarus is fun. Its got to be 1/100 people. this character is no fun at all at all to play. Getting his completion marks is a pain with zero fun involved. The entire game is just a struggle to be anywhere near as powerful as you would have been if you picked any other character, and runs are ALWAYS long as hell

Tainted Laz is just a less convenient version of T. Isaac. As long as you make decent gambles on which power ups to pick, you can get some decent builds going for Laz and his corpse. That said, I do think Lazarus is overall one of the weakest characters in the game playstyle wise.

Fun fact: he was actually buffed in an update. Those second items you can get with Flip? Those didn't used to exist. Imagine trying to play him without those.

Yeah, he might've made more sense before any of the Repentance and even content before it came out, but with some of the things you're tasked to do - it's just such a slog and just really a baffling thing to understand what the point of playing this character is over any other.

It's almost like the J & E ordeal - like who genuinely has these characters as their favorites to play even just for fun?

I honestly think his birthright effect should just be how he is normally, and his new birthright effect should be that you can pick up items with the superpositioned Lazarus too

Except that would make him just straight-up better than Jacob & Esau. Of course, that's really more of a problem with Jacob & Esau but then how do you fix them?

I still prefer him over t. Cain and t. Eden. That said, I pretty much min-maxed his unlocks to be done with his completion marks in like 5 runs, so maybe it's just worse than I'm remembering.

no it wouldnt, his superposition only does 25% dmg and also youd need birthright to be considered as powerful as them (not really cause one of them does 25%) anyway and birthright is a high quality item

It's not just a struggle to win with him, it's a struggle to have FUN with him.
To me it all comes down to speed. If you average out the items you're still dealing with two mediocre slow runs. If you pump most items into one then playing as the weaker Lazarus is also very slow and tedious.
Planning out when to use Flip, when to have the better Lazarus active for big fights and deciding which item goes to who is much more of a headache than even T. Cain.
