He just a bit tanky it's more time consuming than hard.
The hardest part, honestly, is destroying his flies too quickly and risk being hit by the bloody tears that they leave behind.
Any good tips on how to defeat him?
They fixed the exploit to get him stuck in the brimstone shot attack in rebirth but you can sometimes manage to make him do it 2-3 time in a row
Anyways, Monstro II is a lot more random than he was in WoTL (Where you could've locked him into doing his beam attack over and over again making him absurdly easy), but he gives pretty obvious tells.
When he does his first high jump, it always results in a 8-way tear blast, and Monstro II always follows it with a second jump which spawns the four Suckers (Flies that explode into 4-way tears).
Monstro II only executes his beam attack if you're standing either to the left or right of him. Monstro II will NEVER fire a beam while you're infront or behind him, which can reduce risks. Don't forget that Monstro II always smiles before unleashing that Brimstone.
The toughest part about Monstro II in general is his health. Without a lot of damage ups, it goes from a fight to a war of attrition. Maximize DPS by getting as close to Monstro II as possible unless you have Lump of Coal. Monstro II doesn't really pose a threat in close range, as his small hops are very much avoidable at most speeds.
I watch Bisnap pretty much daily, but he can be extremely impatient; he probably would try to beat the Cage at 1 heart with Cube of Meat only.
Also can't stop hating Trinity Shield.
When he DOES do his big leap though, he'll always leap at your position, so just move, and you have a bit of time to get some shots in as he lands (just make sure to dodge his!). He seems to always follow the "big jump that sprays bullets" with the "big jump that pulls flies out of who knows where".
Piercing shots seem to make it MUCH easier. The flies can be popped the very moment they come out.
But again, like most things in the game, there's a bunch of ways you can approach him. And making good choices about items and such in the areas before you reach harder bosses like him is also important.
I find him to be one of the easier bosses. Just takes practice.
