Maybe this is true in rep+ if you squint hard enough? mother got buffed and delirium got hit with the nerf bat pretty big.
Side note I haven't been on these forums in half a year but I recognise 3 of the 4 people here what is my life man
Yeah thats kind of my take on it, though delerium in rep+ isnt liable to telefrag the player anywhere near as often and being so late in the run, your pretty liable to just oneshot it as soon as you get a default form phase (Delerium loses its armour for that).
On the contrary, mother is like one of the tankiest bosses in the game and you don't get any handouts whatsoever unlike the other routes, no dogma and revealed blind pedistals, no chests from chest, just one measly boss item from your womb 2 floor replacement and instantly thrown into it. The wiggly attack in phase 2 is also really hard to figure out for the first time. I can understand the buffs and nerfs making it more comparable but my thoughts are simpler.
It really depends on what your playing, if your doing all unlocks the most obnoxious marks are things like lost, T.lost, jacob and hitbox and they all struggle more to the sheer goofy spam of delirium which can absolutely just frag either lost with no counterplay, while mother is a fight you could learn to dodge really well by the time you actually have to fight it on the sort of crunch time characters that people naturally leave to the end. In terms of raw difficulty and frustration, delerium has always just been that boss, so its not really a hot take, and in rep+ mother isn't really a hot take either, id say they are about even and the gap to beast and mega satan is really wide.
Tl:dr, the post is not wrong, but its in the wrong thread, calling mother a hard boss isn't a hot take, its just common knowledge.
ultra hard is way to difficult for the reward being... a situational trinket at best
It was amazing until Repentance, but now to me it's just a tears-down.
