Why is this listed as Great on Steam Deck?
This game straight up refuses to run on my Deck. I hit play on the Steam menu and after a few seconds it just kicks me back to the Steam menu like nothing ever happened. Help?

Repentance is not 100% compatible with Linux. Steam deck uses a version of Linux as its OS. You might want to wait for an official update or look up how to run Steam games on Linux.

a few days ago something with isaac changed that made proton crash immediately. Therefor its just a temporary problem

did you ever find a solution to this?

Try changing used Proton version in game properties>compatibility>force use of specific version

Honestly i've played a lot repentance with linux. Yeah it's not native but it does work 100% without any problems (not played on the steam deck, anyways it works with linux)
I don't see a problem in just using Proton. That ain't a game breaker.

Here it's working with Proton Experimental and Proton-GE. I had a crash but it was reproducible on windows (old mods), working perfectly for me.

No. But I found out a bit more about the issue. It isn't Binding of Isaac itself. It's the Afterbirth+ DLC that does it. I turned off all mods, the game still insta boots back to the main menu. Turn off AB+ DLC, game works finally...

It's not the DLC, it's the mods. A lot if not most mods were updated to work with the newest DLC, which makes them incompatible with AB+.

Read again. I tried AB+ with all my mods turned off.

install win10, sd let you do this. easy fix

Turning the mods off is not enough, you need to actually remove them.
Gunstar XX Jun 4, 2022 @ 10:27pm
I did. I straight up unsubscribed from them to remove them from my game. It's not like I can just turn them off in game. That would require actually being able to start the game in the first place...

Yes. And that's what I was trying to say from the beginning. That's what I did in the first place...
