Lost Progress After Uninstalling/Re-Installing Repentance

Sup yall,

I got Repentance when it came out, but figured out very quickly that I would have to get better at the base game before I could tackle the new floors and bosses.
So, I uninstalled Repentance, and went back to Afterbirth+ to unlock some more stuff. I made some progress on challenges, characters (unlocked the forgotten and got some good clears w/ him, including Hard Mode Delirium (so, valuable progress imo).
Today I felt confident enough to re-install Repentance, and launched my first game... but all the progress I have made since uninstalling is gone. I still have the achievements on my profile, but the Forgotten is not unlocked in the character selection screen, the challenges are gone... Do you know any way I can fix this ?

P.S: I did not back up my files before reinstalling

I don't know if you fixed or not or if you even play but I was searching today and found something "Go to stats and press alt-f2 It will sync your progress to your steam achievements". For me alt+f2 didn't work but alt+shift+f2 worked.

When playing different versions the game saves unlocks only to that version. Doing what is linked will likely break the game since you would be using a file from the wrong version.

Unless the latest patch changed it, this command is disabled on Repentance, unfortunately.

Thinking about the thread (despite being quite old), the best way would be to delete the old Repentance save. The point is to make the game thinks this is the first time you install Repentance, so it would take your existing AB+ save to create its starting Repentance one. You might have to disable Steam cloud during the procedure.
The alt+F2 method works but has downsides. Sure, it unlocks in-game secrets so stuff can be generated during runs, but completion marks are not visible and completed challenges are not crossed out. The save becomes a mess of visual inconsistencies.

That's too bad. Understandable but unfortunate for people having issues. Hopefully your info works.

That would drive me nuts. Thankfully I've not had issues myself but I started with repentance and stuck with it.

I had actually forgotten about this thread. I believe I took it upon myself to delete my repentance save last year, which helped me keep most of my pre-repentance unlocks (thank god).
I kept playing through repentance contents without any technical issues, but stopped playing AGAIN shortly after unlocking and trying out the twins...

Started playing Isaac recently and today I decided to buy full game, after installing DLC's I lost my progress (small, but progress) and you, sir, you saved it.

I had that problem, I know how frustrating it was. Nice to see the solution it's still helpful ^^
