soul hearts and eternal hearts are ignored/gone if you pick them up as (ghost) tainted jacob

if you can pick up free devil deal items as ghost tainted jacob, and they work fine when you revive on the next floor, why does this not work with soul/eternal hearts?

if you pick them up as a ghost, they do not show up on the next floor

its dumb and there is no excuse for this
you can literally do that on the second floor of chapter 1.5 (as any character, this includes jacob himself), where you become the lost to get moms knife part 1
every soul heart and eternal heart that you pick up like that will go for your character when you leave the mirror

Because Dead Jacob is different from Downpour shenanigans. I'm at least 90% sure that going into a devil deal as a Downpour ghost will still cost you HP.

my point about the devil deal thingy with ghost tainted jacob is that they carry over to normal jacob on the next floor
it also carry over consumables he picks up EXCEPT soul hearts and eternal hearts

chapter 1.5 lost gives your normal character the soul hearts and eternal hearts you take, tainted jacob lost dont

why not use that same ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mechanic on tainted jacob lost? its incosistent

items aren't the same as health. if you could still pick up hp up items and soul/eternal hearts while dead jacob, i'd pretty much always suicide on the start of the 4 first floors just for free fly spectral.

this just proves that the mechanic of taking ♥♥♥♥ for free as lost tainted jacob is one of the two:

-half assed/bugged (maybe it was supposed to work just like chapter 1.5 lost)
or
-an idiotic intentional nerf for tainted jacob (they could literally use the same ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mechanic that is already on the game which is the chapter 1.5 lost)

you shouldn't get rewarded for letting dark esau touch you, you're supposed to avoid that. being dead jacob is supposed to be a negative, not an advantage. tainted jacob already starts with an advantage, being able to manipulate dark esau with anima sola to oneshot most early bosses.

killing esau/letting him touch you ALREADY IS a mechanic that you can use to you reward yourself (taking devil deals for free and taking items over ledges)
but it does not work it soul/eternal hearts

which makes the mechanic of taking ♥♥♥♥ as the lost half assed
or a inconsistent and idiotic nerf because that mechanic already is in the game and they just didnt used it on tainted jacob

being able to take a free devil deal or opening secret rooms with the explosion that comes up when killing esau (this explosion probably acts just like mama mega which opens HUSH and BOSS RUSH doors)

but ooooh we draw the line with some soul hearts or a HP up item if you ever find one as jacob ghost

you are literally being robbed from getting more stuff from mechanics that they incentivize you to do it
