Ascent Home?
Do I have to leave a trinket in a previous floor and then use a teleporting item such as telepills, fool card, the moon, etc in order to get to the secret door that gives access to the Ascent and Home floors? I'm sort of confused on how to get there.
I have defeated Mother too which I think is a requirement.

The first time you reach Home you find a Red Key anyway so you do not need it
Second, you can discover that yourself, it works in boss rooms as well and it happens quite often you leave one there.
I don’t leave trinkets in boss rooms, I leave them where I took a different trinket.
Trinkets are not part of the boss item pool... and I don’t think they’re in treasure rooms either.

It doesn’t seem likely that I’d ever randomly discover this, not in any reasonable amount of time...
Assuming my math is right and that you don't take the time to go to extra alt floors, there's a 43% chance that you'll get a trinket from a boss at some point during a run. Even higher if you include trinkets left that spawned from the item room. That's a pretty good chance that a trinket will spawn that you might not want, or replace the one you had on you.

Five items in the boss pool spawn trinkets, out of 58 items in the pool, with five attempts before Depths II.

I know it doesn't really make much difference here but there's a 100% chance you can get a trinket. If you fight I think 3 bosses without taking any damage from them you get a report card which you can leave in there for it. Or keep it because it's 10 luck.

I was gonna say, most people are not going to be leaving report card unless they've got something with a crazy synergy already.

that is correct, that A+ trinket will turn to 100% into a cracket key =3
wiki confirms that aswell.

No way man, that seems incredibly painstaking. Literally hundreds more hours of failing and dying. Besides, the game is more fun when you know what everything does and you can plan out your runs. In my opinion, games like this are meant to be researched.

I'm all for secret achievements and stuff but the original way to unlock the lost was something that like nobody would ever know unless it was made widely known. That was just heinous amounts of crap to do.

Oh, right, that.

Well, anyway, the chance of discovery also depends on if you go for the ascension on that run.
