Your most annoying things in Repentance?
What is the cause of your grievances?

1. Curse rooms aka spider rooms
2. Greed in shops. I've had it happen on 4 floors in a row not to mention he shows up in so many secret areas as well.
3. Curse of Darkness. As a challange, sure but as in it will happen and ruin almost all Hard runs? No thanks.
4. Increased key drop rate. I frequently get 20+ keys in every run now but no hearts.
5. Charge enemies or splash enemies in a super small area as well as the huge rooms with lots of enemies while on basement or burning. Long fighting with no real reward.

No reroll machines in shops.

Great Gideon and Jacob and Esau. The former is the worst boss in Isaac history, while the latter is the worst character in Isaac history. The former isn't even that bad, just a little tedious and could be reworked to be a bit more interesting, while the latter is really annoying to play due to your lack of control over Esau. Ipecac synergies should also be tweaked a bit, particularly Trisagion and Ipecac.

I guess I still hate rag man, uh... repentance wise I just wish there were a bit more tinted rocks but that's not *annoying*.... can I say rag man again? Curses still suck but they've always been around... I would've said the whippy guys until i learned how they worked the other day. Rag man?

I really hate gideon but I gotta say I respect their role as that one boss where you can't just delete them that doesn't have armor. extra damage definitely helps you fight gideon but you still have to pay attention to the fight. To improve it, I think it'd be better if it was in a 1x1 arena, because as of now you're encouraged to be far away from said gideon and unable to see its attacks.

Yeah, Great Gideon's role is unique and his design looking like Hush is pretty cool. I don't even mind the wave mechanic with him being invulnerable, I just wish he participated more during the waves as otherwise it basically comes off as Greed mode in campaign rather than an actual boss. He could definitely be made more interesting and he's far from unsalvageable, it's just that I prefer every other boss in the game due to their more ''involved'' fights.

People don't like liars and drama queens.
1. Greed starts showing up from Caves II levels.
2. Once greed shows up in EITHER secret room OR shop, it will not spawn again in these rooms.
3. After greed killed once in either secret room or shop, Super Greed will have a chance to spawn next.
4. After Super Greed is killed in either secret room or shop, it will not spawn again in these rooms.

Essentially, in secret rooms and shops, greed and super greed can spawn ONCE EACH during the whole run.

The general tactic is to always try to find secret room before going into the shop.

Jacob and Esay are easy, stop crying and adapt to them. They are stronger than basic Isaac if you know what to do.

Wait till you unlock Tainted Jacob. You'd prefer to play original J&E all day instead of that abomination.

I did nearly everything as them, so don't tell me to ''stop crying''. You're not like this. They are vastly inferior to Isaac due to their massive hitbox and their buggy mechanics(Esau's card/pills stops working sometimes, as in it won't activate no matter how much you press the buttons). And there's a certain room in the Cathedral that has unavoidable damage for Esau unless he has flight from what I remember. He has literal mechanical issues.
Though you are right about one thing, Tainted Jacob looks even harder to play.

Rotgut’s third phase is probably the most overtuned thing in the whole game.
Otter Guardian Apr 15, 2021 @ 9:13am
Jacob & Esau. Worst character ever (worst than Rebirth Lost and Afterbirth Keeper).

Only if you get supremely unlucky with special shopkeepers and Mama Mega, but even that would require two fight on the same floor.

...Hmm. If you're talking about bombing special shopkeepers instead of actually replacing the shop then you could theoretically fight him on every floor in a spectacular run of bad luck. But no, unless you have a Plan C effect or one of the trinkets that adds shops to the late game there are only 3 shops he's even capable of replacing and he can't be in all three. The other guy already provided the specific mechanics that you deliberately cut out of the quote. You can claim they were changed without any mention in the patch notes but you have an uphill battle there.

*sigh*...I just got him on Caves ( shop ), Depths ( shop ), Womb ( secret ) and then Super Greed on Cathedral ( secret ). What's so hard to understand? Who said it had to be only in shops. I cut out his post because it's unecessary big quote.

I kind of picture you as a guy who goes " actually " and is still wrong.
