Lost all save data.

Where exactly should I be looking? I still find some files in documents/mygames/BoIR as well as steamapps/common/BoIR.

That folder is where are save the savedata of Binding of Issac.

Correction: I do have that folder, but moving over the save files didnt seem to fix anything. its probaby because I created a new save file over it when i was just spamming enter to get into my game.

Oh well, guess I can be done with Rebirth until something new releases or a more reliable save game feature is implemented.

Maybe just wait for BoI2..

Go to your ingame stats screen and press ALT+F2 and it should give you the progress completed from your steam achievements on that save slot. Saves having to unlock everything again, at least.

Shame to hear about your save... but Afterbirth is on the way.. Coulda swore the targeted release is end of summer.. I don't know if that's still the case, but even if not, I'd bet any money I could spare that it'll be out in/by October.

More reliable save feature? Excuse me, but the Steam Cloud save system is pretty effective.
You admitted screwing over by spamming enter and creating a new save file as being the possible problem, so don't go saying that.

Anyway, i believe you just didn't do it correctly and you file is still safe.

Have you tried copying the most recent save file out of the

~\Steam\userdata\number_user\250900\remote
to
~\Documents\My Games\Binding of Isaac Rebirth

and then deactivating Steam Cloud through "options.ini" and then opening the game?

If that doesn't work, i'm sorry for you. Your best bet by then would be using the Alt+F2 trick, but the save file is probably lost.

Well, first of all, a little bump here.

Second, the above quoted method didn't help me bring back the 191 hours of progress I made. Instead, it says I have 10 Mom kills, the Golden God thing is shown on the save file, and none of the items are unlocked. Seeing as there is no known method of bringing back the data, I'm just going to wave goodbye to this game and never even bother with the DLC. Not cool.

Nah thanks, appreciate it though. I just used a save editor to fix it, but it won't get me back my ciompleted challenges. Ah well, at least it solves most of the trouble.

no problem i have made that with my tboi and tboi rebirth as i played about 1 k hours on my other account and didnt want to do it all over again so yeah :p but i just wanted to help , now enjoy the game and wait for afterbirth :D
