The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth

The frequency of curses is extremely frustrating.
I'm getting multiple curses almost every run. I've gotten at least one curse during the last eight runs in a row. And I'm on normal difficulty.

It really needs to be toned down.

The odds should be higher the more sin you rack up over a run but the odds should go down the more "faith" you get during a run.

I just wish the stupid "curse of the lost" one wasnt there. ALL it does is make things take bloody forever (cant remember layout of areas I've been to) and it seems to possibly be the most frequent. And the least interesting. And no, I dont care about missing the boss rush because of it; I never go there anyway.

I'm fine with the others, really. But I'd love to see that one removed. Hell, even that "Curse of the Cursed" one from that one challenge annoyed me dramatically less than Curse of the Lost.

Meh, I don't mind most of them... except curse of the maze. If you want a curse that adds NOTHING to the game and only is there to annoy and frustrate the hell out of you, as opposed to actually being a threat at all (Curse of the Lost and darkness as well, for that matter), Curse of the Maze is the very DEFINITION of that. I can handle not seeing my health, items, map, and even having the stage dark (hell curse of the labyrinth can be ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ BENEFICIAL to you, depending on your goals), but when i get teleported back to the same room, 10-15+ times, trying to go to where I have to go, I start raging. It's annoying and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid.

That's true, the maze one doesnt really do much either. Tends to do things like just teleport you back to the room you just came from, which... is pointless. And stuff like that.

Indeed, if we're going to have curses in there, they should be something that actually is dangerous. As opposed to just annoying you or hiding bits of the UI.

Come to think of it, the darkness one is kinda like that too. All it does to me is make it mildly harder to spot tinted rocks and small spiders, and... that's pretty much it. It's just a mild visual effect otherwise.

I do like curse of the maze's more subtle effect of moving rooms around, but yeah, the teleport is annoying and pointless.

The idea with the faith and sin is a nice one, but just because it would add more atmosphere and not balance.
So you've had mltiple curses during a run and at least one the last 8? Seems more than adequate to me. I mean who really struggles with curses and goes like: " oh no this run is ruined now I got curse of darkness"... Nobody does except if you get the one hiding items and you are in the chest, trying not to ♥♥♥♥ up your comb.
Besides curses stay only for one floor which makes them even weaker than before. Isaac is already pretty easy, I dont want to sound as rude as TotalBarracuda, but I sort of agree with him.
Your complaint is objectively false, curses do not impact on your run (in my arogant opinion AT ALL) as heavily as you describe them to and if they do, it's probably just because you are VERY new to the game barely knowing any mechanics

I don't even like that effect. It's equally pointless imo, and when you have to backtrack for 2 minutes just trying to pick up a key you missed or something, it's RIDICULOUSLY annoying.

Agreed. It's a shame the only curse that actually does anything that can be dangerous, emphasis on CAN, is curse of the blind, which is why I don't really mind it very much as compared to the rest which are just a small annoyance. Curse of the blind can ruin your run if you pick up missing no or something.
