how to leave the infinite basement

The only way is to get to an I am error room with a light beam exit as far as I am aware(that is what it used to be at least)

I am error rooms can occure with the use of telepills other forms of teleportation. With the use of the undefined there is a much larger chance of an I am error room. The beam of light is a ray of light shining down on the middle of the room. I havent done this myself, but others have confirmed that it works.

If you type in basement in the seed generation you will have an infinite cycle of only basement floors forever. That is what I assume he did.

I don't believe it's possible to escape the infinite basement. I've tried myself by getting black markets and I AM ERROR rooms on even numbered floors, but it just sends you back anyway. If you were allowed to escape in the past, then they must have patched it.

Btw playing with seeds will not get you achievements, secrets or items.

Onl;y way out is to start a new run. Infinite basement will go on forever.

Sorry to necro this, but I was looking around if I'm the only one who actually managed to get out. I repeatedly kept walking acrosss the spike in the spike room after room 54, and then was randomy teleported to the Mega Satan Room. Got the ending and everything.

This only works in Afterbirth, which did not exist when this topic was made.

In order to escape the Infinite Basement, you have to follow those steps :
- Enter the Infinite Basement seed (Logic)
- Thanks to the Debug Menu (you need to have mods activate), enter "spawn big chest"
- Enter the Big Chest as you would by finishing certain bosses (It Lives, Isaac, ???, etc...)
- Boom ! You finished the game while been OP !

And to test the capacities you gained from infinite basement, here are a few commands :
- spawn delirium : you guessed it : Spawns Delirium in your room !
- stage 9 : Teleports Isaac to the Blue Wombs, so you can fight Hush !
(Keep in mind that the number here is 9, but changing numbers will change the location, and you can't teleport yourself to : The Cathedral ; Sheol ; The Chest ; Dark Room ; The Void)
- spawn big chest : Finish the Monsters' suffering and end your run !
