Tech 2

I've been wondering something since this game came out, but haven't really found anything to confirm this supsicion. Was Tech 2 nerfed between the first game and Rebirth? I could swear that it was an A-tier item for me back in WOTL, but now I'm finding myself more and more reluctant to take it when it shows up. It feels like the item takes longer to kill enemies than it used to. I can remember many OP runs with this item in the past, but now it feels like I lose more often than I win when I take this.

I think it was pretty much like technology in the first game, but faster and with less damage. Propably the only difference in rebirth is, that the laser doesn't spawn flies and inflict those status effects. So guppy+tech 2in WOTL for example is better than guppy+tech 2 in rebirth.

let's say that when you pick it up in rebirth atleast. it decreases your dmg by maybe 1 point maybe more but technology 1 you have the same dmg you had before you picked it up

Tech 2 is -35% DMG.

Tech 2 was never really that good in either game, and its stats and all interactions are unchanged between the two games. Tech 1 and Tech .5 are both significantly better than Tech 2 imo.

I think it's also possible that Tech 2 was an item that I over-valued as a new player. It seems like it can be good if you have other items that augment it. I think my first OP run that I remember with it was when I was playing with Cain and happened upon several tears up pills throughout the run. Honestly, I think it's probably a mid-tier item that's not great on its own, but can be useful with other items.

many items that were overpowered in the original have been nerfed. dr. fetus in original shot out real bombs instead of tears. in this game, the bombs scale with your damage and at first they do barely any damage - they aren't like real bombs and it's kind of a bad item on its own
