How to open secret door (Dad's note)

I saw the way to open the secret door was to defeat mother once and the door should be on the first room in the depths II and it's alts, but i beat mother 3 times and the door still isn't there after beating mom and getting the polaroids and using fools card.

I've always beat mother with azazel on normal runs, am i missing something?

the door appears on depths II
if you are going alt path, you will not find it in Mausoleum

Yeah, i beat mom on normal paths, by alts i meant necropolis and dank depths and not the mausoleum route

You have to beat Mother in the Corpse.

is my save game bugged?

i didnt reach that yet just killed mother for the first time, but maybe its because its a 4 way start? since its a door i would imagine it needs a empty wall to spawn

yeah I also thought of that before, but even with three doors the special door didn't spawn

I just checked your achievements. You never unlocked the Strange Door nor Jacob (both are unlocked at the same time, first Mother kill).

I assume you killed her during a "no unlock" situation which, on Repentance, doesn't lock out endings in the ending list (so no, seeing the ending there doesn't mean anything).
Check your completion marks carefully. If you see no mark ressembling a knife (bottom line, middle), then you never properly killed her and therefore are wasting your time looking for the door.

List of things that prevent all kind of progress:
- Seeds (except a few special ones)
- Challenges (except for their reward obviously).
- Daily Runs.
- Reruns and Victory Laps (except for a few specific unlocks).
- Any active mod from the mod menu before Mom is killed once on that save (no matter what they do, other saves are irrelevant).
- Enabling the console before Mom is killed once on that save (even if you don't use it).
- Paranoid antivirus programs (or missing rights) preventing the game from creating/editing its save file.

Yeah i saw i never got the achievement.

I think it must’ve been victory lap. I just started playing again for repentance so i had no idea victory laps were no unlock conditions, because sometimes after mother i get the “… has appeared in the basement”
