I'm not asking for your opinion, if you read the specifications in the game, it support mac osx and the DLC must support it too.
Don't reply if you wont aport nothing

on twitter, edmund said "nothing is coming to Mac anymore :/", so

It's not out for Mac and probably never will be.

As Tar already pointed out It's not an opinion, it's a fact. Maybe try to be less hostile towards people trying to help and answer the question you asked? Not our fault you don't like the answer.

Its an error on the storefront, perhaps mac support was intended but discarded later?

should probably ask steam about it.

Doesn't say mac anywhere on the Repentance store front.

repentance is, sadly, windows only, and it's clearly marked as such in the store.

is it unfortunate the base game supports more platforms than the DLC? yes.

is it an error? no. apple has been alienating a lot of cross-platform developers for a while now.

on the other hand, official linux support isn't currently available either, and it isn't clear if that's going to change. edmund seemed uncertain about that.

images below show the clearly indicated platform icons.

If you right click on the game in your library, click properties, and choose the option that says something along the lines of "Force specific compatibility tool" under one of the tabs there, you should be able to select Proton 5.13. After you restart steam, repentance should now work. This is how it works on Linux. However, the latest update for Isaac has caused repentance to break with Proton, so you may need to wait for it to be fixed. To he honest, you did not deserve this given your hostility towards other commenters who gave you the correct answer.

while this is all true, there is no mac support for proton unfortunately.

mostly due to apple's insistence on pushing metal instead of supporting vulkan (and has long since deprecated opengl, so that's stuck on an ancient version and might disappear at any time). further moltenvk is nowhere near sufficiently complete to support enough of dxvk for proton support on mac to make sense.

fwiw, it's been working fine for me in linux under proton using 5.9 GE, even through the latest update. (loaded the game just now to double-check)

my strategy for these threads is to try to answer the questions because of the likelihood that other, less hostile users might stumble across the thread looking for information.

after all, in a forum you aren't just addressing who you're responding to, you're also addressing people who may come by in the days, months, or years that follow.

you aren't wrong, tho.
is still up-to-date? i only have a mac, bought all the previous DLC's and was looking forward to repentance - steam store still only shows the windows logo.

i have no clue what proton is - so is there a chance i can play it anyway?

thanks in advance

Yes. No change about that, as far as we know it still isn't coming to Mac.

Why do people insist on playing games in general in a Mac PC?
