Holy Mantle nerf is a tad too heavy
While I think it's fine to make a free-hit item a bit less powerful, the fact that there's no i-frames anymore means that Lost and especially Tainted Lost are virtually back to Rebirth levels of unfair. There are situations where you outright have to take a hit. It's unfair to have good runs and high skill trashed by bad luck on a challenge character.

I'm not really advocating to have the change reverted, just perhaps find a middle ground between too many i-frames and no i-frames at all. Holy Mantle is more of a pre-emptive death sound at this point.

Worthy of note, if you randomly find the Blind Rage trinket, which increases invincibility time, it actually works for the mantle (as of the previous update anyway).

A few other things too, such as getting knocked back into another tear or attack means you're almost always guaranteed instant death.

there is a workshop mod that sets the invincibility frames to 1 second for the mantle

Holy Mantle is only good for going into the stab room doors without taking damage.

I’ve been double-hit way too much with no way out. It should be un-nerfed for the Losts, definitely.

This would have been good to know about 20 seconds ago when I just got hit by an exploding champion into a tear I just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dodged the second prior, because my blue flies decided to charge the champion I was intentionally keeping alive since I was close to it because all other exits were blocked by tears or other enemies.

Lost/Tainted Lost has become one-hit due to Holy Mantle no longer giving you i-frames. Just remove the damn item from them or make it 1 second so you actually have a chance to recover from objectively bs scenarios.

i didnt care about this nerf until i had holy mantle and tried to walk over 1 single patch of spikes to get an item at 1.00 speed and took damage before even making it across

I wonder, since the the lost itself has holy mantle as a trait could they change it to be different from the the item holy mantle. And for "the lost" not sure, maybe change the holy card somehow but honestly that character is suppose to be the apex of difficultly next to both of the jacobs so i don't mind that much.

Difficulty is fine absolutely, I'm not saying make The Lost immortal, but the fact Holy Mantle's i-frames are roughly 0.3 seconds, there's no point in even having the item anymore. Just remove it or make it actually worth picking up.

What? How? Charge behind a rock. Keep flying in circles.

I didn't unlock holy mantle/lost until after repentance, but if I get hit I just...move out of the way lol. I don't see what you guys want from the item.

the nerf was deserved. i had no problems clearing both losts from scratch post-nerf because the change is insignificant assuming you don't slam face-first into brimstone lasers (that's on you entirely) or get cornered like a clown (you have flight). things are as the devs intended and if you don't like it just download a mod to buff it instead of fruitlessly coping on the forums
