Greed donation machine display percentage
It's pure BS, no matter what, if it's at least at 5% one coin is enough to make it jam always, or I am the most unlucky guy on this community -.-"

No, it's pretty much BS ;)

Honestly, I don't put much stock into what the Greed Machine % says. The machine takes however many coins it wants to on any given run. You might find that you can put in tons of coins when it has a "high" chance to jam, or it'll take absolutely nothing when it shouldn't jam 95% of the time. It's just another pointless thing put there to aggravate players, I think.

Why it even has a chance to explode in the first place, I don't know. That doesn't add to the gameplay or strategy at all, it's just worthless padding. Just my two cents there (no pun intended)

Though apparently, you're better off using a different character every time you do a greed run. I think that makes it less likely to jam or something? I don't know.

It's you that's unlucky. I've had plenty of runs where I could donate like 40-50 coins.

I've never been able to donate more than 20, ever. So I think you should consider yourself lucky. Congrats, by the way!

Seriously, the machine has a mind of its own, and it just doesn't like some players.

Man, today I've made 8 Greed runs and the most I managed to put in was like 12 coins on the first, then the BS began, 3, 2, 2, 1 and on and on, it's frustrating...

Agreed. It's very frustrating. I've given up on focusing on the greed machine, to be honest. It sucks WAY too much fun out of the game for what will probably be a less-than-exciting payoff. I'm just doing greed runs for fun, choosing whatever characters I like. If I eventually get the Keeper, that's a nice little bonus. But I'm not focusing on that.

There is an "easy" way to get the Keeper, but it involves getting the Blank Card, two of diamonds, a chaos card (to fight Ultra Greed), and an item recharger so you can get infinite money to get the blue hourglass from the shops. After you get the hourglass and you up your coins to 999, you can fight ultra greed, one-shot him with chaos card, donate all your money (or until it jams), then Blue Hourglass your way out of the room to do it all over again.

I've heard about the Hourglass tactic, but I did this: got Blank Card and Two of Diamonds on a shop, made sure to have a battery charge for sale so I could re-do all of the process and went bananas to try to get that hourglass, but the damn thing never showed up, I ended with the most op run I ever had, breakfasted myself to balls, got all the possible passive and active items I could get and even had Chaos to empty the Devil/ Angel/ Item Room pools. Also I noticed that the Blood Bank never shows up anymore, even using the Temperance card the Demon Judgement shows up instead...

You know, I've heard of someone else on the forums who managed to completely empty all the item pools and never got the hourglass either. I wonder if they either got rid of it or made it like Fate, and it only has a chance to show up on certain runs or something?

It's a dumb idea that completely undermines the risk/reward scenario for the sake of padding.
Players should be rewarded for saving their money and making their run more difficult.
But no, the machine jams after 1-5 coins, making you sit on your remaining 70 coins for absolutely no reason.
You'll need an estimated 100-200 runs to get to 999, and keeping more than 5-10 coins at any given run is almost always completely worthless once you reach a certain percentage.
That wouldn't be so bad if Greed mode wasn't so monotonous.
They should have just went with the regular version instead of this nonsense.

Just ♥♥♥♥ this. I've donated like 500-550 coins normally and in the end it was like 5...15 coins per run at best - its just meaningless. So glowing hourglass is the right way to make 999 coins, get a new starting items for eve and lost + get a new character and move on... But I think they nerfed Glowing Hourglass as well or it's working differently. I played as Cain with 0% chance to break it, so I've found Glowing Hourglass and right from the start I had only 3 or 4 coins max... that's just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. And I didn't have Chaos Card so it took me like 2 hours to make it complete and beat Ultra Greed for zililion times... but even with this nonsens it was 140-150 coins per hour and it's finally 999 coins + destroyed and unlocked Keeper.

Glowing Hourglass+ Battery. Today i make an OP run with the Hourglass (Greed died in a few seconds) but after the first hourglass time reverse (and the other), the machine breaks after ONE cent, so i think this method is nerf. I farmed 200 Ultra Greed, but it's too boring seriously.

This perfectly sums up my thoughts as well and I really hope this gets changed, because I have already beaten pretty much every other part of this game and greed mode with all characters already, so I am not interested in grinding through greed mode a hundred times just to unlock one more character. It's forced grinding in the absolute worse sense and there is no excuse for it.

percentange, move the decimal point to the right and then thats more acurate
CMDR Shven Nov 15, 2015 @ 7:13pm
For real, I've played Greed mode 5 times today and I kept track of how many coins I was able to deposit on each run:

4, 5, 9, 15, and 1. Every time I have at least 40 coins I could have deposited--sometimes as many as 70. There is absolutely no reward for keeping coins and it completely undermines the entire idea of greed mode.
Ifrit1332 Nov 16, 2015 @ 2:39am
So, after some runs and lots of Breakfeast later I managed to get the damn Magic Hourglass, you only need by no means touch the Chaos item, it'll screw the item pool way too early and after, I don't know, like 300 items, Breakfeast will show 15 times before a different item shows up. Don't know if it's bad programing or it's supposed to be like this, but now I'm on the part of grinding on Ultra Greed and I must say that the Chaos Card is not needed, the fight can take up to 30 seconds but not longer, you get here so overpowered that you can almost one shot him... and almost end up with a seizure.
PKblaze Nov 16, 2015 @ 2:46am
No. It's not BS. Simple math.
You have a 1/6 chance of rolling a 6 on a dice. Some people will roll a 6 10 out of 10 rolls, others may roll 0.

It's random chance. even the smallest % chance can effect things. Plus, the mroe you put in the higher the chance it will jam. Each time at 5% you have a 1 in 20 chance to jam. So basically any one of those 20 could jam it, it could be the first, it could be the last.
