Greed Mode

So... how to make 999 coins as soon as possible? Amount of money that you can put in the greed machine seems random, at some point I thought that if you'll get to Ultra Greed fast you can put more money, but this is not working. Sometimes it's 10 coins, sometimes it's 15, sometimes it's ♥♥♥♥ing TWO coins. And it's really not that funny to play this mode like ♥♥♥♥ing forever since I've completed greed mode with all characters already and have something like 300+ coins.

At this point the only way that I see - to get glowing hourglass and get a lot of tears upgrades+some useful effects - damage itself doesn't do ♥♥♥♥ for ultra greed. SO if you're holding glowing hourglass + you have some battery items or a lot of health + regeneration + habit -> you can milk the ♥♥♥♥ out of greed machine IF THEY DIDN'T CHANGE THAT. But even if it's work I can't find glowing hourglass anywhere - it's mostly shop item but it can be found in treasure rooms as well? Or maybe they made this item a lot more rare for greed mode...

Anyway, if you have another solutions for this nonsense share with us.

At this point I can only see some jera+blank card ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, but it's only allows you to genereate infinite money and doesn't solve all the problems. You can gain 99 coins for Ultra Greed and again you'll eat ♥♥♥♥ when greed machine will break after 1 coin. Passage rune doesn't work. Shovel probably too.

i have this problem too. if edmund would just make it so ultra greed is more fair then it would maybe be good

you'll see a % under bomb and key after you defeat Ultra Greed, It's the chance the Greed machine got jammed.Start from 0 and each time you donate 5 coin it will + 1% til 20% max. each character have different %
so just change the character.

I don't know about you, but from the past 4 runs, I've been consistantly donating roughly 50 cents each time. So I'm sitting at 210 cents in my greed donation machine.

well I finally got lucky and I've found the glowing hourglass with habit so it's basically infinite greed machine, 1st time 35 coins, 2nd 16 coins, will see how it works. but my god this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Ultra Greed... ipecac + guppy almost doesn't do ♥♥♥♥ to this monster

3 and 4th times - 17 coins. well yeah, this amount will probably decrease. but anyway it's almost 100 coins in a row which is not that bad

I'm pretty confident that glowing hourglass got removed from greed mode.. I've tried for over an hour with isaac & d6 walking into shop and rerolling if glowing hourglass wasn't there, and never found it. I also just had a d20 breaking run where I got every item in the game and 20+ rerolls only gave me breakfasts and there was still no glowing hourglass...

Putting 999 in the machine the 'normal way' just seems ridiculous. Let's say you have an average of 15 coins donated at the end of your run(15 is a very high estimate, average is much lower I'm sure), and each run takes you 15 mins (probably closer to 20, but lets just figure for very fast runs).

999coins/15 per run = 67 runs (66.6). 67 runs@ 15 mins apeice= 16.75 hours of straight greed farming?

The way his damage resistance works is that he has a cap to how much damage he can take per attack, but the resistance increases if you damage him a bunch in quick succession. So if you have really infrequent but high damage (such as ipecac) it will take longer than usual, but even if you have really rapid fire beyond a certain point it won't make it any faster.

That said, the wiki claims that hitting him with midas touch removes his resistance.

nope, it's there, but it's just extremely rare... I'm playing as Isaac and just found this item in the last ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ shop with 3 items to reroll and like 10 or 15 rerolls but it's there -> http://i.imgur.com/S3A4FrF.png

Do you remember which slot you found the glowing hourglass in? Was it in one of the right two item spaces? They may have just removed it from the shop item pool, which means it could only show up in the golden treasure room/item room, OR in one of the right two slots in the shop, which are randomized. I'm confident I've scrolled through every shop pool item half a dozen times when I was rolling w/ Isaac.

I can't be 100% sure but I think it was left one... I guess now it's just really hard to find it but it's definitely there, I don't think it was removed because this run wasn't that crazy and I didn't reroll shop item pool that hard. Before this run I had Judas run with Jera+Blank Card and I bought every ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ item in the shop + later got Chaos and in the end I had only breakfasts, 5-10 breakfast in a row = some 1,2 items - again 5-10 breakfast, and there was no freaking Glowing Hourglass anywhere. So it just crazy hard to find.

And even with these poor amount of money to donate - only 5 coins for 1 time I think I'll try to finish this nonsene. I have 560 coins now so it's lile ~250 coins for ~1.5 hour 8) I just don't want to pit this whole thing on chance, first things first I want this 999 and hen I could play this greed mode normally 8)

for the last half hour I've been playing Cain and popping my head into the shop, then checking the gold treasure room for glowing hourglass w/ no luck, but I'll keep going. We'll see... If this doesn't work I'll just end up modifying my save file to get 999 in the machine or just download another save file.. I've never resorted to anything like that in any other game before, but this is just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ridiculous.

Yeah, even with a low % breaking chance it's really random. Played Eden, finished Ultra Greed with 60 coins, the chance to break was 0% and after 15 coins (it was 3% by then) the machine broke. And I'm only at 195 right now.
I started Greed runs after the patch with 120 coins.
1. Isaac 120 -> 160 coins.
2. Cain 160 -> 172 coins.
3. Blue Baby 172 -> 180 coins.
4. Eden 180 -> 195 coins.

And with all those characters the starting chance was 0%. This is just stupid, really...
