(question to veteran) Big chest after Mom

Hello , so i've kill mom heart for the first time , but a devil room with a trapdoor have spawned , should i open the Big chest or i go down throug the trapdoor in devil room ?

(sorry i'm still "newbie" in this game ^^

If you want a challenge, go down the trap door.

It'll lead you to an area you'll unlock sooner or later.

Thanks but if i go down , i'll miss an acheivement if i dont open the big chest ? or go down act like i've open it ?

I am not sure about that, but you'll get an achievement for beating the boss down there too ... and since you'll have to defeat mom's heart plenty anyway, it won't make a big difference.

You'll get the achievement for beating the boss when you exit the floor, either by ending your run with the chest or by jumping down to the next floor.

If you want to see the 'Ending' you skipped, you should be able to find it in Stats -> Endings in the main menu.

ok hum i think i'll open the first like its the first time , i'll see later if the same things happen.

edit : i've unlock eden while opening chest.

The appearance of the devil room is connected to the same mechanics as in every boss room, so if you defeat mom's heart without taking red heart damage you get a 99% chance for it to spawn. There are a bunch of other things that change the spawn chance of the devil room, but this one os the easiest one to remember and has the highest impact on the %.

Just for reference: You will get the achievement/unlock, no matter whether you take the big chest and end the run or go down deeper. So if you feel strong enough, go deeper.

Edit: You will miss out on the cut scenes but you can watch them later in the main menu under stats/endings

My advice - don't ask too many questions. Just play and enjoy and be surprised. If you get choices to go one place or another they'll both lead to fun content.
