how does goat head really work

i have been trying to find some of the angel room items i've not found yet. i was under the impression that the gota head gave a garunteed devil OR angel room after a boss fight. i has a run where i didn't pick up and devil room items and i did get an engel room on the fourth floor. i then picked up goat head on the 5th floor and got only devil rooms from then on. Can you still get angel rooms with the goat head??

i didn't take it on a devil deal i got it on a curse room. that link says i should still be able to get angel rooms

Even if you have a Deal of the Angel prescidence, you still have a % chance ( I don't remember which) of finding a Devil Room.

You only lock devil deals by paying for an items with heart containers (Black shop or devil deal).

Goat head will allow you to go in and out of devil deals OR angel rooms in EVERY floor until Cathedral / Sheol.

It's common to reset until you find a goat head to make sure you'll get an angel room on third floor when trying to touch Sacred Heart or Godhead.

Without goat head you have 100% chance to see a devil deal on the second floor, down to 32% if you take red heart damage that goes back to 40% if you pick up pentagram or kill the shopkeeper. For later floors you have 60% chance to have a devil/angel room, back to 32% if you've seen one in the last floor. Modifiers from red heart damage, pentagram and killing the shop keeper aplies on every floor.

There might be new mechanics in afterbirth but what i said is still working.
