Chaos Card
I lost my entire run to Satan because I accidentally thew my chaos card in the wrong direction, I really wish It would just be an activated card like Death.

I think that would take away from the general uniqueness of it. What they really need to do is have it fire in the direction you are shooting your tears. As it is now, you fire in the direction you are moving (so you would have to run towards him to throw it at him).

Yeah, I had to look online on how to use it as I couldn't really tell how it was supposed to be used the first time I used it (I think I remember getting it and wasting it during a fight with it lives). After you know how it gets thrown, it gets easier to use, even if it still feels weird.

The first time I got it I found a Blank Card to go with it. I missed every single card (but I won the run anyways)

So yeah, it does take a little bit to get used to it, but it's super OP so it's a fair tradeoff.

But using the Chaos Card on Satan only insta-kills the stage you used it on.

If it worked like Death it would be insanely over powered. Imagine going into Boss Rush with Blank Card + Chaos card. You could instantly kill every other wave of bosses with it.

It's actually based off a Magic the Gathering card in real life that requires you to literally hit monsters in order to kill them so making it an area of effect card or whole screen makes zero sense
The card is called Chaos Orb and requires you to flip it in the air and it kills anything it touches when it lands

So even your own monsters if your aim is bad?

Yup. It was a really unique card. lol

As you can imagine, though, it gave rise to some stupid strategies, like simply spacing all your cards out across the table. I don't know if it was ever a legal card in tournament play.

Maybe do it like you throw it in the direction you're looking....

It was legal a long time ago and there was even an almost legend about it. It one tournament the opponent did exactly that he spaced all his creatures out so the player proceeded to rip his card up into tiny pieces and then throw it like confetti all over the opponents side of the table. Technically the card just had to turn over once while in the air to be able to hit enemies and there was no rule at the time against ripping up your own cards so in effect every tiny piece of his card that touched another card after they settled was destroyed. Obviously not the most cost effective strategy money wise but completely ingenious and devious at the time

"There are a few stories about people ripping up Chaos Orbs in the first couple of years after Magic was released. The story is that someone ripped up a Chaos Orb and dropped the pieces onto the playing area in order to hit as many permanents as possible. The player ended up clearing most of the opponent's lands and creatures and won the game shortly afterward. The story says that the player didn't care about the value of the Orb since people didn't realize how valuable cards were going to be, especially the Beta rares. This story might be an urban legend or it might be real. It doesn't really matter since it's a fun story and it led to the creation of Chaos Confetti. I would guess that there is indeed an element of truth to the story."

Also worth noting those original chaos Orbs are worth anywhere from $150-$600 dollars for the oldest ones

It was at first, but then they banned it. They really had to as it was even causing people to do stuff like taping their cards to the wall.

- Origin story -
Holy crap, that's awesome. I had no idea there was a legitimate origin for Chaos Confetti... I have that card (I used to collect unglued cards and play an unglued deck against friends, it was a lot of fun :P)

Do you have a link or something for this? I'd be curious to read up more.
