Randomly acquired buddies?
I'm playing the daily run, but I have seen this happen in one of my previous runs before as well. I'm running along, and suddenly realize I have one more buddy than I previously did. I know for a fact that I have only picked up one extra buddy thing, and yet I have a total of four(one that Lilith starts with included). Any idea what might cause this? is it something I picked up that gives these out at random, or some sort of bug?

One of Lilith's items provides a familiar at several getting hit milestones, I believe the first one is about 15 hits, it spawns a random familar for you to keep.

Yep. It is Called Cambion conception and it can spawn several demon babies. There also is an angelic counterpart called Immaculate conception.
