The Golden Horseshoe (trinket)
I have a theory, I may have solved the mystery of what this item does.
I've been picking it up whenever possible and holding it for an entire run.

I think it increases the chance of getting a collectible pickup when you open a golden chest.
what I mean by "collectible" is one of the items that go into isaac's inventory, such as bob's brain, fate, the rotten head, anything that can be rerolled with the D6.

I had a run where I was holding the golden horseshoe and 4 gold chests in a row had a collectible pickup.
I entered a challenge room and there were 2 golden chests and i opened them and one had the goat head and the other had steven's head and i've never seen this happen before in 500+ hours, but this time i was holding the golden horseshoe and I think that is what influenced it.


I also had a theory that the golden horseshoe upgrades the quality of the items so that you overall find better stuff but I could be wrong about that.

That's interesting. I had three golden chests with items in the same room in one of my recent runs and although i'm not sure if i was holding this trinket, i'm certain that i had it at some point in that run.

No, it teleports you out of the room sometimes when you get hit. I tested it out myself. I know what I'm talking about.

There is a posibility that what you may be right. But when I used it, it teleported me out off boss rooms.

Maybe you picked up Cursed Eye. This item teleports you whenever you get hit while charging.

It's already been figured out.
It increases the chance of a Treasure Room (Item Room) by +15% to have two items instead of one. You can only pick up one of the items
Mom's box increases it by +30%
Platinumgod and Rebirth wiki's already have this down. Enjoy

okay,
well, at the time I posted this, it said "currently unknown".
I guess I was just lucky on that other run, i've had several more runs wihtout the horseshoe where i got 2 items from gold chestsin the challenge room. it seems to be that one with the 4 chests in the corners almost every time i get items out of 2 of them.
