Hush is a warning, and the most real feeling that isaac could suffer. Its his own mind (alive, while he is suffocating) showing him something similar to ??? (his future dead itself). As you refuse to listen to that warning, Hush comes back. That this fight is the most tedious and overwhelming one of the game isn't a coincidence, Isaac is suffocating and his mind tries to make him know in some way. If you are observant, the less health Hush have left the darker is the room and the more you can see shadowy veins at the sides of the screen (a common sign of suffocating seen in the eyes), and the room is all blue (another sign of sufocating called cyanosis that makes the skin blue due to the lack of oxygen that isaac haves in the chest). Even the music tells you that you are desesperate to breathe in the track and the name (Morituros is the Latin word for "about to die" and in the music you hear a HUAH war scream like sound in the most begining of the tune that actually could be coughs or forced breathing) and even Hush makes snort like roars. The way to the blue womb is the Isaac's mind asking him clearly to acces this area to try to warn him about his unavoidable death, and the timer of 30 minutes before for accesing to the blue womb could be the time that Isaac haves before he die, the time his subconscious had left to advise isaac about his fatal fate. After the fight, Hush leave his face in the soil, that seems sad for frustration, because his mind tried to convince Isaac of living but Isaac didnt understand it or didnt pay attention because he saw Hush as an expansion of the womb of his Mom, something to defeat. Defeating him allow us to choose between sheol (to confront the demons of his guilt to felt safe in his world) and cathedral (to accept and try to clean hissins) where, choosing one, will make Isaac die and live in his imaginary world, like it hapended with It Lives (whose fight means that Isaac wants to exterminate itself before he born which means you died) before.
In short explaniation, Hush is the desesperated and hopless advise of the Isaac's subconscious trying to save him from dying in vain. This is the interpretation that i, with others theorys, give to the Hush. No wonder why afterbirth was a Haloween expansion

And here I was about to just say that Hush is ???'s true form after you defeat Isaac and he becomes ??? in the chest. Lol, Kudos to you IDDW! Good stuff.

thanks. it was really fun and disturbing to search all of this. The worst of all is that in this game there is no happy ending cuz isaac will always die. Only bad endings and better endings depending on the goal youre trying to run

if you use plan C (you will die) on Hush, the veins becomes totally visible. This probably means that you destroyed his lungs and Isaac suffered all the agonizing proces in one shot XD
