Mod to explain items before picking them up?

The most annoying thing to me about this game is the fact that I am forced to do 1 of 2 things in order to have a good time.

1: Dedicate hours and hours of studying on end in order to memorize what items do.
2: Look up items as I play.

In both instances, I'm basically losing a lot of time just to ensure that what I'm picking up will be fun or just something that will ruin the run I'm on. This has been the major blocker to me enjoying this game at all. I'm not asking for easy mode, I understand some items have to be bad because they synergize with specific items that end up making them good, and I'm not even asking for things like bad pills to be taken out.

What I want is a mod that somehow lets me know what items do before I pick them up. Either that or a mod that won't apply the negative effects of a bad item but will apply its positive synergies when triggered. Maybe this is easy mode, maybe it is just for casual babbies, but whatever, I don't care. I just want to play this game to have fun and the negative items and inability to choose what I should buy at a store w/o looking ♥♥♥♥ up is just boring and annoying.

If that means this game "just isn't for me" so be it, I'm still going to ask the question. Does such a mod exist that would help a player like me?

That said, yes, I know about the "clearer item descriptions" mod and I have used it but it's the memorization of what every item does that I can't do. I'm terrible at memorizing things.

Edit : At least, I've never heard of one nor have I ever seen a streamer or friends use one. If there is one it's hidden pretty well, but I doubt it 'cause as you said yourself you're not the only one who feels this way.. so I would imagine it'd be a popular mod. I wouldn't mind something like that to be honest though, read the items descriptions in game and probably make some badass combos using the bad items. :D That's what I'd do.

Just for the record, you should hit up the modding of isaac website and see what kinds of things can be done in this game. It's not just sprite replacements, there's plenty of interesting item-pool manipulation you can do as well as creating new monsters, weapons, and even change the music back to the old school tracks.

That said, I'd think a real easy method of doing what I'm asking is simply shading every item so they're color coded for a specific "type" of item. Green ones are "absolutely good," red ones can be "absolutely bad," and you could add more like blue items for things that synergize well or yellow items if it's a part of set (like becoming guppy) and so on. You could get really useful infomation JUST out color shading the item sheet. It doesn't take genius coding work to do this.

Thus why I'm asking if something already exists! There are a lot of mods out there and searching through them for what I'm asking isn't the easiest thing to do. That's why I'm seeing if anyone here has experience with mods, as that person would probably know.

Look Dave...a good way to do what you are asking is to go and play the game...I am the worst at remembering things..I'll forget everything..the only thing I do diffrently is I played till I learned what ♥♥♥♥♥♥ me over last run and don't take it till I have a good skill set for that build or item in question best thing for you is either go on this site http://platinumgod.co.uk/ and look at the cheat sheet or just do learn it yourself.

Hey, look, I appreciate the advice and it's the advice I'd give to someone if I had the time to play this game and saw this post as well. I already know about the site. Unfortunately, this just doesn't fit my schedule. I don't play enough to remember more than the most obvious items and that's not going to change. That's why I'm asking about the mod.
