Report a translation problem
(From what I've kinda heard over the years it seems like Nintendo wasnt adverse to the idea, but the game was pretty close to breaking the rules they had, in which case it'd open the doors to other dark games which they probably didnt want.)
That's the problem I have with most phone games, really.
As for mobile port - it would be cool, but sadly, touchscreen controls would make a game like this unplayable. There are a couple of BoI clones on Google Play, but they play like ♥♥♥♥, mainly because of controls. And there is also the target audience factor - it would be hard to sell a game like BoI on a platform that is dominated by freemium so-called "strategy" games and one-button time wasters.
If the controls were ♥♥♥♥, Isaac would not be fun.
