The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth

The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth

Who's harder in your opinion? Hush or Mega Satan?
I know many (myself included) would say that Hush is the more difficult final boss, but a friend of mine argued of Mega Satan being possibly harder which I personally don't agree on. Mega Satan may arguably have more health (if you include the combined health of him and all of the hordes you have to fight) and less room to fight in but Hush was more difficult in my opinion overall. Does anyone have their own opinions on who is harder?

I'd say Hush is harder because you actually fight him instead of an army of "minions" during 80% of the fight. Not that their attacks are really too hard to dodge, it's more of an endurance test than anything else in my opinion.

Hush is the easiest boss in the game.

Hush
His Continuum shots are pretty hard to dodge until you find the sweet spot, imo
also screw those eye beams

Hush, by far. His scaling HP contributes greatly to that.

his hp doesn't scale, he just has high damage resistance higher your damage more resistance he gets, Ultra Greed was patched the same like Hush

Fun fact, if you kill his first phase when he is ???, then pop your damage actives/cards on the actual hush fight, Hush will take more damage than usual as his defense scaling is decided depending on how hard your hitting ???.

Same for Ultra Greed getting his defense scaling from the fight before him.

His continuum shots are the easiest to dodge, because they literally don't require any dodging. It's the second you start trying to dodge them, that you're gonna get hit.

I've found that as soon as he start firing his continuum shots, if you just stand still on the spot you're standing, you won't get hit (at least I never have been, doing that). His shots just fly over you, the game is just psyching you to make you think you're gonna get hit, so you start dodging and then you start getting hit.

Also, to answer the question: Mega Satan is harder in my opinion, because he is actually a fight, the Hush is just boring because he requires you to stand still for 70% of the fight.

Mega Satan because mini bosses can screw you over if you have low speed

I don't understand the point of the bosses "scaling" with your stats. that means that your stats are meaningless. because no matter how high your stats are, the boss will always scale to meet your stats so that the fight is always the same.
it's because of this scaling that hush and ultra greed are way more difficult that mega satan.
Hush also is more bullet hellish than mega satan and he summons lots of smaller enemies that take a ton of hits. like, each fly that hush summons has as much health as one of the 7 sins in the mega satan fight.
although, every boss dies instantly to chaos card, which is how I beat ultra greed as the lost...

I hate hush but ultra greed is my favorite boss, because he makes me think of Mutoid Man, I call the move where he drops down keys and opens the doors and all the little guys come pouring out his "Smash TV attack"

Hush scales with your damage, not your stats, big difference. He's quite easy to kill if you have stuff like soy milk, or even high tears stat. The point of the scaking is so that you'd need a different strategy from beating them than just your average Brimstone, Magic Mush etc etc.

Also, the flies that Hush spawns, aren't necessarily meant to kill. A lot about the Hush fight is based on "psyching you out". The flies go in a straight path, you can just walk around them and they won't follow you.

Same with the Continuum tears, as soon as he starts shooting those, just stand still on the spot, I haven't had him hit me with those once, so far.

I've actually tried that before, and it rarely worked for me.
The way I found was to stand right in between the streams that initially come out of his eyes.

Why do people keep saying that ? That's wrong.
I already try soy milk against him 2 times and it took the exact same time if not more than with most builds. If you want a fast way to kill him, try mom's knife.

And his health doesn't really scale with your damage : he has damage limitations depending on how many attacks he's done.
He has 5-6 very distinct phases and he needs to make a few rotations of attacks before passing to the next one.
Icedfate Nov 23, 2015 @ 3:25pm
mom's knife...feels like the worst weapon for hush and ultra greed, it hits them and floats inside them and an attack that would kill any normal enemy in 1 or 2 hits, even mega satan dies in just a few hits from mom's knife, but it barely does anything to hush and ultra greed.
I used to avoid mom's knife because it was boring and made the game too easy, but now I avoid it because it's the worst weapon for hush.

my new philosophy is
"never bring a knife to a hush fight"

I don't fight Mega Satan much because devil rooms are too precious. But I have been fighting Hush as the lost a bunch lately, and THIS was the result of my first try: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=561206980

I actually started crying a little bit. Hush is harder, Mega Satan is much better. ♥♥♥♥ the damage scaling.

Oh yeah, and in the screenshot I had polyphemus and epic fetus.

Do what I did. Get a Chaos Card and just 1-shot him.
