how can i beat and get to mom ?

hello again issac community ! since my last post i have unlocked eve and still have laz ! I figured out that you can get unlocks AND use mods if you beat mom. If anyone could help me by telling me what items to unlock or strats to get where i need to go that would be great !

No need to worry about items or strats to kill mom, just play for a couple hours, finish a couple runs, and eventually you'll get there, its pretty simple

im reletively new aswell and have gone through your issues.my only advice is to keep trying withount mods.mom is found in depths 2 and is VERY easy compared to other stuff in the game and you dont really need game breaking items.also if you have the bible that kills mom instantly.hope this helps

Lately the bible is not working for me and it won't kill mom or It Lives. It used to work in the early runs, but right now it's completely ineffective Although in the end I find the boomerang more useful in the long run. The slow effect is a lot more practical for me.

The only advice we can give is really just to keep trying. Learning the attack patterns of enemies is the bread and butter of the game. Mom is a boss you have to fight every run, and reliably getting through her and the womb is basically the gate keeper to the entire rest of the game. She's supposed to set the standard for all the bosses you'll unlock later.
If you really need to just beat Mom once to unlock mods, then The Bible has a special interaction that instantly kills her when used during the fight. It isn't something you should rely on, though, since it isn't something you can get every run, and only works on two of the story bosses.
You can find it in the Shop, Angel Room, and Library item pools. The item The Rosary from Angel Rooms makes it so it's able to appear in every item pool.

The Bible should always work on Mom or It Lives. I believe the only thing in the game that can even cancel the effect is the trinket Broken Remote, which forcefully teleports you out of the room when using your active item. If you're having any problems with it beyond that, I believe it can only be a conflict with whatever mods you have installed.

I only have music mods (original OST and antibirth OST). But after installing the item description mod, I have seen that I was confusing the Bible with the Book of Revelations. they look the same with a different colored cross.

one thing i would try to go for is tainted isaac so you can stock up secret rooms with items like G crown or spindown it really help and also just in general T isaac is a great character
